you strut assembly needs to be rebuilt. you should not be able to just take off the spring. there should be a lot of compression on the spring, and if not your spring is sagged and needs replacement. check the top spring mount and the lower spring mount, make sure nothing is bent on the mounts. then reply

the strut assembly includes: struts, springs, mounts(upper and lower). by rebuilt i mean he needs to replace the struts and re compress the springs.

The lower mount is part of the strut...It can't be replaced unless you replace the whole strut...

i had to rent the tool from a-zone to compress the spring to take it off. checked for worn parts but everything looked ok. also when i turn i can hear noise from that same side. the struts were rpled about 3 or 4 months ago

my guess is that the spring did not get the ends seated in the notches and it is rotating. it may be coupled with the fact that whoever changed them threw away the plastic liners for the spring seats which will let the spring squeek and creep easier.

I have the lower spring mount and the top bearing. If you need it, I can give it to you for free. Just pay the shipping.
