PCV ventilation hose?

On my 92 VG, the hose connected to the PCV valve is hardened like rock and there is a crack.
Is this a dealer only thing? I can't find any PCV hoses at local parts store.
Can i just use some vacuum hoses to replace?
Anyone knows the size of this thing?
TIA.

No. When mine came off it was pretty flexible. You can probably find a similar hose at an auto store. Look for in the hose section to see if you can find one of similar width and longer. Then you can cut and reconnect instead of trying to find exact size (much harder)

That's exactly what I did. I never buy hoses from the dealership unless it's a special unit that can't be found elsewhere. Just match the inside diameter and length and you're fine.

IIRC, the PCV valve hose on our VG's must be bought at the dealership, because the side that fits on the crankcase has a larger diameter than the size that fits on the PCV valve. dont quote me on it, but thats how i think it is....

^^^^^^^^^^^you are correct sir, the PCV breather hose is indeed larger on one end where it is coming from the valve cover and are smaller where it is fed into the PCV valve. I got mine for around 20 bucks.

The dealer replace mine last year for about $25. I couldn't find it anywhere else.
