Random loss of power? help?
I'm not sure how to explain this best, but.....for example, This morning, i woke up, warmed the car up, and drove to work. I had excellent, perky throttle response, and plenty....PLENTY of torque and get-up-and-go. I took lunch, went to burger king, still had plenty of power....stopped at the record store, turned the car off, and went inside. Came back out and was on the way back to work, and the max is all sluggish, normally, with the max at 2500RPM's in 2nd gear, and you give it some good gas, it will drop it to the ground and beat feet. but in this situation, when i give it gas, it feels like im in 4th gear or something...REALLY sluggish.
Any idea why i would have power sometimes.....and not have power other times????

have seen problems with col packs causing this as well as low oil pressure not engaginging the vtc's.
have also seen the vtc's internal spring & ball bad, however normally when this happens there is a loud ticking noise noise on accell.

vtcs wont do that mine were beyond shot before i had them fixed and in second if i goosed it...well off came the rubber. sluggishness came in a bit with the nkock sensor but not that bad.....check your fuel injectors and coil packs it sounds like a dead cyl.

yeah, these engines are great most of the time, but totally wack other times.
I had a problem with my coil packs, which caused stalling. I also had a problem with my KS where it was really sluggish when the engine got hot. Then, I had a fluctuating idle due to IACV. Finally, I had a time where the engine went f'ing bonkers -- revving and surging and stuff. That was the coolant temp sensor going out.
Anyway, you should start by checking the ECU codes. After that, start checking coil packs, maybe start going through the different sensors.
