Trying to get my 91 SE road worthy as the 93 SE is for sale. I noticed when I purchased the car the heat would only come out of the defrost vents, no matter which button was selected. Well the lights were out on it as well, so I figured I would throw the one from my wrecked 90 SE in there. Well still no lights (I think they were burned out anyways) but it did not solve the problem either. I noticed a motor hooked to a rod going up towards the dash, is that what controls which vents the head comes out of? The fan speed and hot or cold function fine, just cannot select the vent.

get a chiltons manuel if ya dont know wut u r doin...let it guide you,young jedi.

 

make sure the fresh air vent isn't on. its the lever on the left side.

 

regarding the motor and rod u found, i believe that is what controls the blend door...it should be actuating as u select the different buttons.
compare and contrast with ur wrecked 90 (assuming it works in ur 90)

 

Actually it was just a blown AC fuse, guess I should have checked that one. Thanks guys!

 

The question now....is why did the A/c fuse blow anyway??
