shift **** thread size

I was just thinking about our shift ***** and what size thread it has cause remember there was an org member who had a real nice all metal ball ****. He said it was off a mazda ( I think miata)and it threaded right on. I want to replace mine (AE) cause its shot, and I cant stand the one's with the screws. Anybody know the size and where the good looking ones are?

Might wanna get some .....Well the gloss came off the aluminum on top of the shifter. Next the marking rubbed off. Then the metal started to peel off from the seams of the ****. I was coming home wondering why my right hand had a bunch of scratches all the time but I didnt realize it was the shift **** until one day it cut me and a lil blood was on my palm. So I took the **** and some needle nose pliers and went to work taking off all the metal, and thats how it looks to this day.

I believe you are thinking of the guy who put an RX-8 shift *** in his max. Don't remember the title of the post but he said it fit perfectly.

Yeah that second one has a good deep thread. Id like a C.F. ball that screws all the way down like that one.

They both get low just the same, but in the first one the boot is pulled down a bit.
