wheel spacers?

hey i justhad a tune up at my local nissan dealer,and they said i need something that goes behind my rims when mounted onto the brake assembly....does anyone know wht this is and if so where i can get them? he said the dealers dotn sell them buti can pick them up anywhere where mag wheels are sold. i think there supposed to stop vibrations etc...if anyone has any info about this then i would really appreciate it...

now they don't stop vibrations, actually they are more likely to cause vibs. but anyways you can pick them up at any tire shop, usually they have em in stock. the purpose of the spacer is to bring out the wbeel and tire so it doesn't rub. you can also get hubcentric spacers so your car won't have a vibration problem with the spacers. they are a little more spendy i think like a 100 bucks or more. i know H&R makes em. if you have any more ?'s just ask. oh do you have custom wheels maybe that is why they told you that or maybe if you have a bigger tire it might be rubbing against your strut or sometimes it may rub agains the body of the car. hope this helps a little good luck
