ok, right now my best time is 16.6 with only these mods... cai, hi flow muffler, and advanced timing. my dream (the keyword is "dream") is to hit atleast high 14's (14.9 to be exact) in my 1993 automatic vg (160 hp sohc) gxe. i want to do it all motor so it will most likely take some serious dough but i am willing to save up for it (i am a college student so i am always broke as hell). do you think all these mods will get me there? cai, y pipe, hi flow cat, hi flow muffler, (maybe a full cat back too but since i am running N/A, i might need some of that back pressure right?) comeplete tune up (port and polish and anything else that needs to be cleaned out), vb, udp, and ecu will be enough? i am thinking all that will most likely put me in mid 15's. any input would be appreicated and if i forgot any mods, let me know. thanks! ps - i forgot, probably need a tranny cooler too since i am auto and what about upgraded ignition (sparks, wires, etc)?

put it this way...Skymax had all of that and then some including totally stripping his interior out etc and still only hit low 15's....which is VERY respectable for a vg auto

i think on top of all those mods you will need some serious tranny work....

not likely

The reason is because there aren't many 4th gen auto's than can run 14's NA. With a VG you would definitly have to do some engine work. Along the lines of higher compression pistons, extensive headwork, aggressive cams to say the least. However if the VG33E is swappable into our cars then with just bolt ons and cams it should put a VG auto around mid 15's no question. Then add a high stall convertor, VB mod, smaller drag tires and go for low 15's or 14's.

The VG33E is used in Frontier,Xterra,99 and up quest
and 96-2000 Pathfinders it should bolt right in.
but I would beef up the tranny

if the VG33E is so easy..

how come it is never done? Would there be a problem with it because those are trucks, and RWD while the Max is FWD?

there isn't much difference between FWD and RWD in an engine. The difference is in the transmission.

Hey Nismo... What about HP numbers

Ok, so with all the mods for a NA VG auto, and without swapping engines, or stipping interior, what is the estimated total HP?
