Hey Rich ease up on the caps : ) ->

at 97K I would do the following:

Replace spark plugs w/ oem NGK platinums(courtesy nissan)

Change the oil!! And do so every 3k w/ dino or 4-5k w/ synthetic. Even longer if you use the extended drain programs set up by various oil makers. ie.. Amsoil.

You can run an injector cleaner for 2-4 tank fulls of gas. Or you can arrange to have them taken out and sonicly cleaned(RC engineering)

Change the accessory belts

Change the tranny fluid(manual or auto) Maxima 5-sps are over $1k rebuilt!

Check the brakes and replace if necessary.

Rich. Some advice if don't want to be flamed on this bbs board. Do not use capital letters for your posts. It's irritating. Now:

Yes, a fuel filter change would be good.
O2 sensor only needs to be changed if you gas mileage is going bad. Like 15 mpg on the highway or something.
Injector(not invector) cleaner. Most do the same thing. Texaco brand w/ Techron would be good I guess.

Dont forget:

Fuel Filter
Air Filter
PCV Valve
Coolant System Flush

Most people forget the coolant, it should be done once per year (every summer/winter cycle)

Caught this thread...

I bought a '92 Maxima a year ago which had a engine shaking problem that didn't show until I after I purchased.

It turns out that the fuel injectors (3 of them) where faulty. After replacing it drove like new (as near as I can tell

Questions:

Is there a problem with the factory alarm of the '92 Maxima Brougham?
I am having a problem with my alarm system not turning off when I open the car with my Key. I have an after market keyless entry system installed which I've been using to turn off the alarm, but now it is no longer openning the car (though still turning off the alarm).

What is the difference between the '92 Maxima Brougham and other '92s?
Every other '92 I've seen look similar. Just curious.
