3 days off work...hah

Monday: drive around town and get estimates via picture for some lady's car that i rubbed bumpers with. went to junkyard to find red bumper. there were no 96-97 accords there, but i did see a pearl 3rd gen with a fender and hood which i need. come home and call places to try and find a red rear bumper.

Tuesday: go back to junkyard, removed all upper bolts on the fender and finally get to the bottom 2 bolts and realize that they need to be drilled or something because someone banged a curb with the bottom of the fender right where the 2 screws are. spend a half hour before realizing it's impossible and probably not worth it considering there was that damage and some bad glue residue from a trim peice finally move on to the hood, take that off and buy it. take my hood off in the parking lot, install the "new" one, bring my old one in to get my core charge back, go back out to the yard and dump it in the core bin, take one last look at the maximas and realize there's actually a window regulator that someone hadn't taken yet and amazingly, it was the one i need so i took that off and bought it for $10. drove home, got all my door stuff together, go outside, remove the slabs of particle board i had propping the window up, install the $10 regulator and test it out. it went up and down flawlessly 3 times so i put the door back together. then i got all my mess cleaned up and took a test drive. not much to test out, but i always look for excuses to go for a drive works great a couple times and then snaps. went back home, took door apart, took regulator out and called the sister store of the junk yard. i asked how long the junk yard was open, she confidently told me that they closed at 6. drive 8 miles to the junk yard, got there to find out they close at 5 and have to come back tomorrow...

Wednesday: so i came back today and got my refund and left without a regulator. came home, called to find out when i can remove the bumper of the accord so i can get it fixed, and the answer was "tonight". so i had hours to burn and recieved my plenum gaskets in the mail yesterday so i decided to put my intake junk back together after cleaning some bad corrosion off the injector terminals to hoping it was causing the miss on my black max. got it all back together and it ran the exact same as before. so now i have that to do again so i can replace the injector. still had a few hours to burn so i took out the window regulator on the black one, and put it in the pearl one which is the car i drive. anyway, got it in the pearl one and put the door back together. luckilly this one is working like a champ.

i'm sore as all hell, and now i have to go take that accord bumper off in a while.. some weekend oh well..

You should have spend some time carpeting your sub box, mounting your amp somewhere and hiding the wires

Did you go out to the Foster and Damascus U-Pull-It? I miss those days of rummaging through those places. I know you didn't go to one in Sherwood. I think it's still underwater.

good old foster. had to watch my step to avoid the heroin needles. they have set prices there now for parts. $30 hood, fender would have been $22 if i would have bought it. stop making fun of my system i know it's a GSB but my priority at the time of building the box and installing the sub and amp wasn't to make it look pretty. the outside of the car's looked trashy ever since i got in the accident, plus my input shaft bearing was shot. i just wanted some quick bumps one day and was too lazy to carpet it. in time you will see what's in store

the accord chick's nephew flaked for the second night in a row, now she's back from vacation and i'll probably look like the flake.

kcid: i was pointing out the fact that my days off have been filled with "work":P i have 3 days off each week which is cool. when you do 4 in a row, going back to work is tough..have fun.

It's not that hard to do, and sometimes it's worth the gamble. A few bucks for a regulator that you can take back and get a refund is worth it if you get maybe a couple years out of it. If I had access to a yard close by, I would probably do it, too, hoping that the boneyard car maybe had theirs replaced, since the original ones break so often.

I don't think I would pay for a used one from someplace that I had to pay shipping and couldn't get a refund, though.

I wouldn't BUY a used one unless I got to check it first.
the VE I just sold had slow windows which means the regs are probably on their way out.
The VE I'm supposed to pick up on sunday has windows moving smoothly and quickly.
I'd trust them if I were buying used but not for much more than $25

it was only ten bucks and i was at the yard getting the hood anyway.. might as well save money when you have the opportunity. it's not like the rear window gets a lot of use either. it's an easy fix, i didn't mind the labor. taking the door apart is simple stuff.
