Power Valve Control Solenoid Vacuum

Does anyone have a picture of the power valve control solenoid and the vacuum hose routing? If not, maybe some input on where the vacuum hoses come from that go to the solenoid. BTW, I have the FSM but it is not exactly clear as there are numerous vacuum hoses in the area.

Does the bottom line from behind the throttle body connect to the line with the one way valve to the surge tank (number 7 in pic. 3)?

Thanks, its seems that I have my vacuum lines crossed or something. I previously had the solenoid but with an auto intake. I just bought a VI and trying to get all of the vacuum lines run. Where bottom line that exits behind the tb run then? I believe it is one of the the metal lines with a right angle shown in the previous pic. One goes straight to the egr solenoid I believe.

Thats not it, but thanks for looking. I believe I see how it goes now. One more question, does the surge tank just work for the power valve? Because both lines on my auto intake run into the power valve solenoid, effectively doing nothing at all. Strange how it ended up that way but I guess they had to put them somewhere. I believe the surge tank should pick up vacuum from the manifold and send it the the power valve. Then the other line on the power valve solenoid run to the power valve. Things are starting to make sense. Thanks for you help.

Thats the one. When I get home this evening I'll have to find out what is going to the fuel pressure regulator off of the auto intake. I'll have to get started on install this weekend and see how my 5sp likes having its vi back where it belongs. Awesome pics by the way.

You could probably mix those two up but it wouldn't matter. They are just pulling vaccum.

Travis, it looks like your intake arrived in good order. If you meet up with MySpleenMax94, tell him Stevie Wonder could weld better.

Yep, got the intake yesterday. I don't think it is going to be much of a problem to get it put on, I have had the auto plenum off a couple of times without a problem. I never noticed that the original power valve solenoid is still in place after all this time. That being said, it should be no problem to install as long as I can get the vacuum lines right and I think this thread has got me straightened out. Thanks for everything guys.

Hi

I have a quick question what does the brown valve in the pictures above do/control ( Mine has a large nasty crack in the side of the rounded plastic pice and I am sure it is leaking Vacum so I just bypassed the valve with one pice of vacum hose.

What does it do?/whats it for?

What does bypassing do?

Anything harmful?

What do the black ***** do?

(I went over my one quick q limit!!)

Thanks Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is the solenoid that send vacuum to the EGR valve. If you bypassed it then the EGR valve will always be open or closed (open, I think).

EGR: Exhaust Gas Recirculation. It opens and closes constantly, (with the throttle I believe). If it is not functioning correctly it one thing that will happen is your idle will be screwed up. The solenoid is a necessary component or this system will cause you problems.
