Selling max, buying max

I am probably going to sell the red 92 SE this Saturday. Had one appointment to show the car and another guy insisted on getting here first. I didn't even put the car on the market until I had made a deal to buy a red 99 SEL in Minnesota. I'll still be a 3rd genner because of my other two. Sad and excited at the same time

Yeah, if I ever decided I needed a different (newer) Maxima it would definitely be a 5th gen.

Has to be red. I wish there was a 5th gen , red. The 6th gen red opulence is not quite there either,

Good luck on the sale, it should be quick. I was hunting for a 3rd gen SE for 2 months and found only 3 for sale in the whole Seattle area over that time. Two of them were sold only hours after being put up for sale (after being posted on autotrader and equivalents).

The third I found a few hours after being posted. I called the guy and he had 2 people already lined up to look at it the next day. I went to his house that same evening and put a deposit on it and bought it. I'm now a VERY lucky owner of a 92 SE with 130k. I'm a happy man.

yeah, it's funny, the red 3rd gens seem to sell pretty good now. When these cars were new, I never saw them. I had a pebble beige one, back in the mid 90s and I think I saw only one red one in the whole time I owned it. Now, it seems like I see a lot of them.

Mine might be for sale next year. I still have it under consideration.

The L means Limited. (or loaded!!) I'm not really sure what all that means but it has everything.

It stands for Limited. It doesn't mean that it is loaded with features though nor is it especially limited production-other 99 Nissans got the limited name-sentra, altima, maxima, pathfinder. Though I guess that since the SE-L was introduced late, it probably had lower production numbers than the SE. The SE-L was introduced at the end of the 99 production. It is basically replaces the base SE model. I think it had the same base price. It had darker painted SE wheels -"titanium" vs lighter silver of regular SE models. The white SE gauges are "titanium tinted". The Maxima badge on the trunk is written in darker silver. The floor mats say SE-L instead of Maxima. There are SE-L badges on the door. Bright red paint was an option. If you got leather, it had perforated leather, and SE-L on the leather seatbacks. So basically it has those cosmetic changes, and could be optioned with the same options SE models had.

^^^ Thanks, I didn't exactly know that. Sold the 92 this morning
Got 3100 cash, so that was good. Had two guys that wanted it. The second guy I knew from way back in the Rugby days at Kansas State, hadn't seen him in 30 years. He was pretty gracious to the first guy and let him have it. Anyway it is gone and I get the 99 on the 21st.

Had another call on the car not one minute after the guy drove down the street!!.
