i replaced my distributor cap, the distributor rotor, and spark plug wires (already did spark plugs a few months ago) because my car wouldnt start at all without a tune up.

probably run about $100 total. didnt go top of the line, either. dont know if what i bought was bad or good...but it made my car run.

Wires, rotor, & cap for $100 shipped

I just ordered a set of wires, cap, & rotor for $100 shipped from a Nissan dealership in Colorado; http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...90&catalogid=1

I would also consider internetautomart. He has a good deal on NGK wires.
http://internetautomart.com/maxima/3rdgen/tuneup.html?

I've always believed in NGK for my Nissans/Datsuns. I've used Bosch wires on an '85 Zcar and they just didn't work out for some reason.

Dealerships sell wires labelled "yakazi". I'm not sure if that's the brand or model; the dealer couldn't even tell me. They just said they're OEM.

plugs and wires = ngk

cap, rotor, oxygen sensor, fuel filter, pcv valve = nissan

if it's never been done or if u don't know if has been done in the last 60k or so, the timng belt and water pump (nissan parts only)

but u have a 92 listed...i think they came with a timing chain (vs a belt) that doesn't get changed

I thought only the VE had a chain... he has a VG listed in his profile, so I think he still has a belt, right?

Correct me if I'm wrong, cause I know you will...

only 92-94 SEs are VE. All others (89-91 SE and all GXE) are VG

Darn. I wonder what kind of wires the dealer sold me? A loooong time ago, all they sold for our cars was NGK. Well, at least I got the cap and rotor right. I'm still waiting for them to arrive. I've never did this before. Any subtleties that I should know about?

If you are buying a distributor cap and plug wires, you should change your timing belt, too (if it hasn't been done in the last 60k miles or if you don't know).

Think about it...

the main site:
http://www.pinnaclenissan.com/

but to order parts:
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat....cfm?siteid=49

i prefer to call them on the phone though...for some reason tends to be a few bucks cheaper...not sure y?
