Codes, ABS light, CC, HELP!

I own a '93 5sp SE.
It started with flaky door locks and my Cruise control croaking. I figured it may be the CC box under the dash, since it was next to the door lock timer and bad soldering may also be the culprit. I bought some used parts which came from a '94 5sp. The door lock timer was exaclty the same, but only 2 of the 3 serial numbers on the CC box matched. I foolishly decided to try it any way.

I plugged in the '94 CC box and went for a drive. After deducting the CC had not changed, the ABS light came on. I checked the brakes(raining) and they locked up, so my ABS is definately now on sebatical.

I checked the computer for codes and got 5 long, 5 short. I'm assuming this means 55. Where can I look this code up?

Also, the door lock timer I got didn't work at all. When I put my original one back in, that one took a dump as well. The sticker says "Do not drop." Are these things that fragile?

Soneone please help. I really don't want to break out the KY and take it to the dealer.

Re: Codes, ABS light, CC, HELP!

first drive with a speed more than 20 mph for more than one
minute, stop the car and count the L.E.D.flashes of your
abs. comp. wich is located in the trunk, while engine is running.
For example : number of flashes, 5-10 sec no led, number of
flashes 5-10 sec no led number of ...
may than i can tell you the problem .

Where's there a web page to reference to codes.
The codes I got were from the main computer. Apparently 55 means everything with the engine is OK. I didn't realize there was a separate computer for the ABS. I'll hunt around in the trunk for the ABS computer. I guess the codes extraction process is the same?

Thanks.

The computer for the ABS is on the top to the right if you're looking in at the trunk. You probably have to crawl in there since it's hidden pretty well.

I have this same problem. After I got my tranny rebuilt last December, the ABS light went on. I have a feeling they screwed up one of my speed sensors somehow. They actually looked at the left speed sensor (that's what they read out the code to be flashing) and said nothing was wrong. But then again, they weren't Nissan mechanics *shrug*. Yeah, I have to get that taken care of some time soon I guess.

Good luck with yours.

ok, how in the heck do you get the codes from the abs computer? I thought it would be like the engine computer, but I can't find 'the screw' on the thing anywhere.

there is no screw there is only one l.e.d.
there are 11 codes
10 codes are the number of flashes than 5-10 sec no led
between the number of flashes.
code 11 16 flashes or continuous led on means controle
unit malfuntion.
if you have your warning on and the l.e.d. is off ,than
the malfunction is your power supply or ground circuit
for the controle unit.
to much typing for all the codes.
