I thought I was going to be stuck on the side of the road the other day -- I got in my max to head to work approx 70 miles down the highway. Anyway, the gas light came on the day before on my way home, so I knew I would have to get gas in at least 20 miles.

So, I start to work, get approx 15 miles down the hwy to a gas station - whew, plenty of miles left in the tank, so safe now - can get gas and get to my work 50 more miles away.

I look for my wallet in my bag, and guess what - no wallet = no cash or credit cards. Then I look for my phone to call my wife to have her meet me w/my wallet ( would have been interesting @ 7am with her having to get the 3month old up and about)

Anyway, I have no wallet, cash, credit card, or phone to call for help - only option is to start back home and hope I make it - at this point I had already driven almost 25-30 miles with the gas light on.

I started back toward home hoping I wouldn't run out of gas -- but I made it.

by the time I got him I had gone nearly 50 miles with the gas light on and the needle would not move and was seriously past the E by several needle lengths!

WHEW!!!!!!!

I finally got a chance to check my fuel milage last week - I hadn't had a working speedo for a long time. No city driving, cruising country roads and interstates I am getting 29.53mpg. Not too shabby!

The most I ever got was 500 on a 93 gxe for all highway driving. Usually I get 430 a tank for highway and 300 in town.

Well, I put in 40 bucks= almost 15 gallons on monday night and have driven 170 miles so far and still got half tank left...waiting to see how long a full tank will last me..hopefully I will surpass the 250 mile range that most people have trouble getting.

I had to click 20miles or more/gal. I'm still not sure if that is correct for mine or not. Since I have torn exhaust manifold gaskets and can't replace them til I either A) figure out how to get the broken bolts out, or B) get a new motor and swap it. So I'm sure my gas milage is real terrible.

So my gas lasted from Monday to Friday night...got 262 miles out of it...could've gotten a few more from reserve but didnt wanna push it as the gas light was on.. 262/15gal= 17.46 all city and a little bit of rough driving toward the end as I was almost late for work/school a few times

Summary for lazy people 262 miles/15gal= 17.46 City MPG

On a trip to Montreal and then to Quebec city, I drove 415 miles on one tank and there was still some left in the tank so my mpg on that trip was 22.45. However, it was the winter and it was snowing too so I might have gotten a better mileage given that it was summer time.

I get about 13 city 17 interstate.
I was going to investigate but with 200k on the car, oil leak, and a nasty crank pulley wobble I just decided to replace the engine with another VG30E.

Shift_wait where's 3rd???

mileage

My Max 95SE gets 24-25 mpg in mixed driving. Highest I hit was 28 on a long freeway cruise - going the speed limit for once!

I get about 430km from ~50L even though it has a 70L tank my fuel light doesnt work (found that out the hard way ) I fill up as soon as the needle hits E now and use 95 ron (Im from Australia so its measured a bit different) I think my economy should be better im not quite sure though. Its a stock 1991 VG altho when the engine is cold i can smell petrol fumes while i let it heat up so i probably should fix that.

Has any one else had a problem with their fuel light not working? If so could you please point me in the right direction of a guide or something to fix it thanks.

Feel your pain. As far as I can tell, since I have had my '89 the fuel light never worked. Found that out the hard way, gotta love coasting into the station with no power steering or brakes.
I just reset the trip every time I fill up and just monitor that till I hit the max range I feel comfortable driving on one tank. Currently 220 miles, used to be as high as 350 but
