to expound a bit more...
quality of the bearing used
design of the impeller
quality of the metal used
quality of the seals used
quality of the fit and finish of the internals and how they work/fit together.

not all expensive ones are high quality and not all cheap ones are of low quality.

as for the lifespan of the pump, there are other factors which will affect it such as the t-stat, the radiator, the coolant mix, the general state of the motor itself, etc...this is why it is generally recommended that u change the pump every three or so years.

cardone and beck/arnley are pretty big suppliers....then there's always the oem.

there's really nothing to say one brand will last longer than another. when it comes down to it (at least for me) i assume the part will fail - and they all do - that's how they stay in business. the big factor for me is whether or not i have to pay for the replacement part again and again. this is why i shop for parts that come with lifetime warranties (some will even ship to ur door for free).

like i said...just my 2 cents

Cardone = reman = bad choice IMO

I'd stick with companies like airtex and GMB both are major manufacturers even if they aren't all that well known

cardone = new or reman....they offer u the option. i think it's like a 6 dollar difference....and no upcharge for the lifetime warranty on the new either...

just comparing apples to apples

Brian who is the OEM maker? Nabco? Tokico maybe? For how much of a pain it is to replace, I'd consider oem if one is available from a non dealer source.

I'm not sure. I don't specifically remember from the last WP I pulled off. I know the master cylinders for brake and clutch often do.

Ugh. Here's a pity reply. Does anyone read the crap that's permanently listed at the top of this forum? The only thing I can add is DON'T try to take out the pointer, you will only break it. If you need more room some have unbolted the tranny mount and tilted the tranny upward to gain more space.
