Odometer Question

I bought a 93 Maxima about 2 years ago for my gf the odometer wasnt working at the time. I didnt really worry about it, now that I got her a 96 and I am driving the 93 I would like to get it working so that I can monitor gas mileage and oil changes, etc. I have a Chilton's manual but I didnt see anything in there about the odometer.

Many odometers break when resetting the trip odo while driving. I replaced mine with one from a Stanza. It comes out easily and you can even sync up the mileage on the new odo to match the old.

My 1990 base model maxima has an ODO problem too, it stops intermittently. After about 45-50 minutes of drvingit stops. but when i get home and let the car rest over night, the next day its the same deal. My maxima has 153,231 genuine KILOMETERS so my dad said not to worry about it, because when i get rid of her, shes gonna look reeel young
