Upper hose split at the engine

Was driving around the day before yesterday and just around the corner from my Nissan dealer I see light stem coming up from the right side of the hood. Pulled into the gas station, propped the hood and low and behold - there it spits out drops of antifreeze and stem comes up from the small crack in the upper side of the hose by the clamp. The temp was Okay as I have not lost much antifreeze by that time.

The dealership only had a bypass hose in stock, so I ordered the upper and lower hoses. In the mean time I cut off the split part of the hose about 3/4" and put it back on. Just thought I'd mention, cause our cars are 13-15 YO by now, might want to replace the hoses just in case.

I am lucky that has not happened while I was on my way to NYC or back - I would not have noticed at high speed and at night. Having a locked engine in the middle of 480 mile trip is not a nice experience...

I've got a set of hoses on the shelf. Haven't seen a post from you in a while, glad you're still around.

I am around big time, just the different priorities have been keeping me busy. My two kids and I now do karate almost every night after work and on Sat, and we go bow shooting every Sun. The doctors told me that I had a heart condition around Xmas, which turned out a false alarm, but I already picked up karated as a remedy before they discovered that one of the electrodes fell off at ECG, which caused a missing signal. Two growing up kids take all my spare time...

Glad you are OK. My two kids are about grown up (maybe). Cherish your time with them.
