H.I.D.s
H.I.D.s
I've been trying to find what Texas allows for the K rating on the HIDs but I have been unsuccessful to say the least. The reason I ask is because I'd like to go with the brightest rating available that I can get at the most reasonable pricing for (around $300) and still be with in or right at the legal limit. I also had a question concerning my stock 93 GXE headlight setup, my driver side headlight has already burned through 2 lights (low beam filament) and is slowly turning Xenon lights to a brownish color. I don't know if its a wiring problem or what (not I haven't changed any of the factory wiring... yet)? Any information would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
well i managed to find some disheartining information concerning the H.I.D. kits:

now those that have done the conversion kit on their maximas, have you found this information to be true?

exactly so the higher the k burn the color of the filament that is illuminated changes. i mean the average HID from what i can remember is between 8K to 12K just personal preference on the color of the filament you want to appear. They all work from 12v, just make sure they are aimed correctly not bliding on-coming traffic. also, as the link u had up above notes that the halogen lenses that we use in out max's doesnt have the same lense refraction, so in common terms ours lense wont project the beam correctly. thats why when u have seen HID kits they are generally on cars that use projector headlights like bmw's, benz's, and the new gen's of max's. But the common factor is the headlight lense "PROJECTOR"
