Tried starting car and fuse popped

Its about 9-ish eastern time and I tried to go out and start my max and I heard a fuse pop and the car went completely dead. No inside lights or anything..I know on the older cars there is a fusible link that blows if the alternator power wire crosses with anything..Which fuse could cause this?

Please don't make a new thread for everything question that pops in your head. Put it all in one thread.

Check all the under dash fuses. And under the hood for possible popped fuses. (on the driver side in thoe black boxes.)

And about the heated mirriors. If it has the control(AND IT CAME WITH IT) you probubly do and may or may not be working because of a possible bloiw fuse.

Ok, I checked all the fuses and fusible links and all the fuses under thehood in the black boxes and none of them are blown. The ones that are completely covered I can't tell if they are blown obviously..so what to check now?

Ive popped many a fuse but I didn't know that they made a distinct sound... Are you sure that it was a fuse? Sounds more like a loose connection somewhere. As mentioned earlier try checking the battery and other electrical connections (I know that when my battery is low it will sound as if the car is makng a popping sound when I try to start the car)
