What type of digital cameras are you guys using for your sig pics?

Or are y'all using a combo of 35mm and a scanner?

Kodak DC215; not too expensive and nice quality

I do wish I had variable shutter speed (for motion picks) and the ability to take short movies like a lot of other cameras do.

How much did you pay? Where from? I have a D-Link DSC 350 that I got from an auction off Ubid. It has 3 different resolutions and has the ability to be used as a computer cam or can also take video footage.

The software is kinda weird and I AM NOT happy with the way that the pictures have turned out.

I've been using a Nikon Coolpix 990. The quality is amazing, but it's pretty expensive.

My sig pic and the ones in the link in my sig are from a Canon S100... 2.1 megapixel. It's about $400, but the quality is excellent.

damn straight :D "my camera is bigger than yours" LOL

Nope - I won't be in Jersey for either event since I've got an autocross on Sunday. I won't be at any import races any time soon, either, so I guess it'd be easier to ship the Z pads back to me :) I've got autocross races from now until late August with one or two free days (which I'll be relaxing!)

What are the features that I should look for when I get a digital camera? How many megapixels? Shutter speed, flash, etc.

It depends on what you plan on doing with the camera. For just normal pics w/o printing anything, any half decent 1 MP camera can be bought for $250-300. But, these have little zoon & eat up batteries like there's no tomorrow.

I've always preferred Sony digicams because of the size of the lens (size does matter ). A larger lense captures more light and results in a higher quality shot. My CD1000 has only 2.1 MP but it takes higher quality shots than other 2.1 MP cameras.

For amateurs, it's better that they not have control over the exposure, aperature, shutter, speed, etc. so most have auto modes. Some of the mid and top end cameras have both auto and manual modes.

My vote is for the Sony DSC S50 for the average person. Excellent camera for $400-450.
