Anyone know....???

What would be to the immediate right of the mirror **** if it didn't have a blank in it? It is the exact same size as the heated mirror button. What option would have at that location? Many thanks!

No - the mirror switch/toggle is on the far left of the dash. just to the left side of the toggle is the push button for the heated mirror function and on the right of the toggle is a blank the exact size of the heated mirror function.

The next button toward the steering wheel is the cruise control switch, then the fog light switch & on the other side of the wheel is the dash lights dimmer and rear window defrost switch....

Are any of them suppose to light up by any chance, or only the defogger?

yes, the button to the left of the mirror control lights up. And I also have only the driverside button and have wondered why the passenger side didn't have one.

The cruise button lights up green as well, but I was wondering if their pictures are suppose to light up as the defogger does. Probably not..

I have never seen anything in that other side.

Maybe in Japan it is the button for fold up mirrors or something? I have no clue if they even have that on Maximas, but it seems like a lot of Japanese cars do.

Maybe it has something to do with the digital dash or HUD options?

The $64000 question is is it in the FSM? I'll check tomorrow, I need to go to bed.

I thought it was an option for the JDM max (european max), for the mirror defrogger or something, but the L button worked for both mirrors so the R one doesn't fill any purpose at all. Probably some design mistake or something

Here is the answer:

It's a picture of Logan91VE's car, which was a MY1991 JDM export to New Zealand. I can't really tell what the button is for, but I can make out buttons on both sides of the mirror control.

And...Cliff Clavin is right. The blank is for the power folding mirror button:

From Nismobaron's 93 NZ-spec.

Nismobaron's cardomain tells how he set the folding mirrors up. I want to do this too, now that I've seen it.

s13 power folding mirrors might fit. i compared my s13 mirrors with the 3rd gen mirrors i have laying in my garage and they seem to be almost the same size. the adjust ****/switch is also the same size but not sure about the plug

If some of you would like to get the headlight wipers I could get them for you, shouldn't be too expensive. Gather up and tell me what you want and I'll check up on prices. What you need is probably (just guessing) the motors for the wipers, the wipers themselves and the waterpump for the fluid... hmm.. err... what the h€ll is it in eng... ah you know what I mean...

JDM G20 power mirrors seem to be the same, but without defrosters and power-foldable. Maybe the power folding mechanism could be swapped into the Maxima housing and the switch wired up, either separately, or added to the existing harness, to retain the defrosters. I might try this.

Good job on on finding the answer to my ? - that would have continued to bug me every time I drove the car..
