I was installing some Ventvisors® in my front windows and noticed that there is a tab that is part of the window's weatherstripping that sticks out. The tab is about 1 inch long and is visible whether or not the window is closed.

Does anyone know what is the purpose of it, because I almost accidentally tore it off.

When I put the ventvisors in, I ripped the weatherstripping right below that tab. Now I get this horrible wind noise rushing into the cabin when I am hauling ***.

But what is that rubber tab used for? Did you break that tab?

I have no idea. Just don't rip it.

i'm pretty sure that tab is just there to properly guide the window into the channel when you roll it up.
