Brake problems, help needed.

I recently changed the back brakes on my 91 max yesterday. The calipers were real tight to turn back in, but eventually went. Now the problem is, after trying to bleed the brakes two seperate times, my brake pedal just seems to go straight to the floor. I even drained all the fluid and put new brake fluid in, and bled them again still with the same result. I started with the right rear and then did the left rear. I really don't understand why the pedal is going straight to the floor. Do I have to bleed all 4 brakes even though I only changed the back two? Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks a lot.

Sounds like one or both of the calipers are bad...I had a bad front caliper do the same thing after a brake job...Pedal kept going to the floor, switched it out with a spare caliper, viola!

I would bleed all four brakes just to make sure...

It's possible you have blown your master cylinder.

When you deal with calipers, you must take the lid off of the master cylinder as moving them causes the brake fluid to rise thus causing pressure to build up if the cap is on.

id say master cylinder. wen you do a brake job, you dont need to bleed your calipers unless you took the caliper off or you arleady feel air in the system. this happened to me before. change out the master cylinder and bleed out the whole system with fresh brake fluid. it should go back to normal, if not better. also pump the brake pedal while the car is started. if it starts to get stiffer as you pump it, then you can be sure its the master cyl. highly unlikely but its possible the diaphram in your brake booster is damaged.

maybe a scilly question so I'm sorry if I'm all wrong but are you sure you bleed them correctly? I mean, open nut, press pedal and keep down, close nut, let pedal up and so on... I know I made that mistake in the beginning...

This is whats happening as of today. I started the car and attempted to drive it up the hill here at my school. When I got in the car the pedal went straight to the floor, but I noticed if I pump the pedal a few times I have pressure again and the brakes work. That is how I had to stop every time. If I would drive for a while and go to hit the brake it would go to the floor, so I would have to pump it up prior to when I really needed to brake. I parked the car again as it clearly isnt safe to drive. I really dont know what to do. I am POSITIVE I am bleeding the brakes correctly as I have replaced my brakes before without any problems. Is there any way for sure to determine if the mast. cylinder is the problem?
Again if anyone has any ideas from what I just posted please help, I need to drive this car home this weekend for spring break.

when mine did that, it was because I got air in the lines and it gave me no pressure. didn't have the right tools and I didn't know taking out the bleeder screw thing in the back was bad news.
