rim question
ok so once i get all my suspension taken care of im going to try and get new rims and tires. now im not a big fan of the big chrome look. so im not sure if i should stay with the stock 15 inch size and 5 spoke rims or move up to 17inch. any one have pictures of one of each(spoke amount does not matter just 15inch and a 17 inch) im not sure if it will look bad or not staying at 15 inch....

My opinion is to not get aftermarket 15" wheels if you are lowering the car. I had bought some for my old maxima that my wife drove because I wanted to keep it 15 (not lowering and didnt want to spend a lot of money on a wheel my wife might curb) and wanted to get rid of the painted GXE flower wheels. It looked fine on that car because it was other wise stock and it went with it fine.
I put those wheels on my 93 when I was doing paint and body work on it (sold the gxe without the wheels) because I didnt want to mess up my 17s.
Here are some pics of various wheels I have had on different Maximas.
first is the lowered 93 with the 15s...as you can see it looks really funny (at least to me) but I only did it because I didnt want to mess up my 17s
here is the same car with my old 17s...granted these wheels look bigger than they are because of the spoke design (going all way to the edge of the wheel)...
and here is PA's SE when I owned it with 18s

Personnaly I am going witha 16 " for a couple reasons..
#1 - cheaper tire prices
#2 - roads hear are CRRRRAPPPPP so i dont want to destroy a nice rim hitting a pothole with a low-pro tire
#3 - light 16" rim = less rotating mass then a 17" of the same weight (as i understand it, I am sure matt will correct me if i am wrong )

Personally, the largest I would move up to would be a 17 inch rim, but I wouldn't just look at the width. I'd also make sure the offset leaves me enought space to put a big brake kit underneath the wheels. For me, anything larger than 17 on a 3rd gen looks too big. Best 17s IMO - 350Z wheels. They have the right offset, at least for the Blehmco or Jeff92Se Cobra BBK.

A lot of people don't really want to pay all the money for a BBK, so getting 16s or any 17s isn't that big of a problem. I would love to have a BBK, but I don't think I will ever pony up the cash for one, therefore if you really don't think that is in your future, get the wheels you like.
I think 16s are fine, but I would probably find some 4th gen SE 5-spoke wheels like Craig Brace has on his, instead of spending a bunch on aftermarket wheels. I guess it depends on what you like and what kind of deals you can find.
It seems like the best looking 17s have an offset in the +30s. Mine are +42 and I like my 17s, but they need some spacers to look right. They are a bit too "tucked in" at the moment. The rear tires are super close to the struts, too.

350z 18" Touring. The LOOK like the 6-gen maxima wheels but the maxima versions have NO clearance for the bbk that's on the car.
