dang punks!!!
Alright, so i had to go to a nursing home today to play a gig with the jazz band i'm in for my scholarship in college.
Place looked like the ghetto of the ghetto's.
SO, i came back out after the concert and noticed a huge scratch around the driver window. i unlocked the car and checked to make sure everything was there, so when i got in the car and was ready to drive i locked the doors and it unlocked itself, after fighting with it back and forth for about 10 minutes i finally won and got it to lock.
So they TRIED to break into my car, and messed up the lock, and probably got scared away once the alarm went off, which is loud enough to make you go deaf if you're within 50 feet, lol, anyways, the driverside goes down only half way now and keeps bouncing back up to unlock the doors, so my question is, how do i fix this?? autozone doesn't have new locks so, anyone have any?? lol

Sorry to hear that crap happen to your car in such a wonderful neighborhood But, I don't really think anybody trying to break into your car would have made the locks act that way afterwords. Sounds more of a lock timer issue of some sort.

well the reason i think someone tried to break into it was the black rubber right around the window was broke right around where the lock is, and when i pulled up i did have the stereo loud and there was several people standing a block down

fortunantly for them, no camera's, i don't think that place has heard of air conditioning either , so as far as getting the law on them i'm SOL, i'm just wondering about how to fix the lock now so i don't have to stand outside my car mashing the alarm button 15 times before the doors actually lock, lol

That "sucks", but on the positive side at least they didnt get your car! Just imagine how you would have felt to return and realize your "ride" became a GHOSTED MAX!
I can totally relate to how you felt because my cars have all been broken into, keyed and STOLEN.
If you dont have a club, I would suggest you purchase one. It's cheap and it's definitely helped me. I feel safer with the ones that lock onto the brake pedal as opposed to the steering wheel locks simply because the steering wheel can be cut and the lock slipped off. Good luck!

i can almost bet it's a rookie trying to do this. even a semi rookie would know how to get into a car w/o busting up everything. (don't ask me how )

well i'm glad they didn't figure out how, even if they did get in, if they would've tried cranking it they couldn't, the alarm shuts the car off till you disarm it with the remote
the lock would lock them unlock itself, it really wouldn't move much at all, it looked like it was shuttering when locked then it'd pop up and unlock everything

just for extra safety since you know your car is possibly a target, place a kill switch in some discrete place you only know of. You can do it the way I have always had it done (by my father), which is have the switch immobilize your starter(so no electricity gets to it). I say this because my friend got his car stolen, and he had an expensive alarm system installed. It appears that the thieves used some magnetic device (or something) to disable his alarm, and once that was done it was easy for them to steal it. I don't know how he found this out, but that is what he told me. BTW his car was stripped of everything.
It may also be that newer alarm systems may have found a way around it.But as everyone knows, once companies try to stay one step ahead of the bad guys with new technology, the bad guys always seem to find a way to counter it pretty quickly.
