Help...Major Oil Leak!

Ok, luckilly this happened last night (didn't know about it) when I was only driving about 2 miles away. Whatever tank is just below the battery and intake is leaking like a **** from the front (at what looks to be a 2" dia **** or something metal and circular about 2" in dai.). I'm going back out there to take some pics right now (had to get new batts for the cam). And this thing is pouring out oil when the car is on and the engine is definetly not getting oil as you can smell when I start the car. I dont' know to much about this stuff so hoping someone here would. Hopefully its something I can fix on my own, but if not atleast I would be able to know whats wrong. Post back in a few mins with pics of where its leaking.

Looking at the pics the last one is easiest to see where its leaking, its coming from that metal circular piece right in the center of the last pic. Can anyone tell me what might be wrong before I get a mechanic over here?

Oh its black, theres a trail of it in my parking lot. And the engine sure does smell like she's not getting any oil either. I havn't moved the car just started it twice to show 2 of my roomates. Oh and when she's running the oil literally pours out from around that Circular piece whatever it is.

Is it shaped like that? If it is, that lip is supposed to be totally flush. Good luck fixing that one! Your best bet is to get a new one, and then remove as much stuff as you can to get a good angle to hammer the new one in place.

Yeah its shaped like that. Ok, that being said I'm not going to attempt this one on my own. Looks like I'll be calling a mechanic soon. What is that called so I can explain what is most likely wrong when I talk to him?

Way too big to be a freeze plug. They are the size of a 50 cent piece or a quarter. Plus if that leaked, it would leak coolant, not oil.

My guess it's an oil cooler. Just follow the lines that go to/from. They probably end up at the oil filter or in the block?

VG guys need to step up and look.

still can't figure out where you are pointing to in the picture.
Can you show a more clearer photo with an arrow pointed to the thing?

I added red circles around the disk that the oil is leaking out around. By the way that disk now spins freely in both directions, not sure if it is supposed to.

Well I can not make it out, I guess it could be a whole in the block.

Well I've decided to let it wait a day till one of my friends who is a mechanic said he will probably be able to stop by tomorow and help me figure it out. If anyone in the mean time thinks they know or could check their VG engine bay and see if that disk is like that on theirs and if it should be turning like it does on mine.

Its not just a line leaking its whatever that disk is and its leaking probably about a cup of motor oil every minute (judging by how much it leaked in about 10 seconds)

This is your tranny, and the area you pointed out in the pic above...

The fluid is black because it is most likely old fluid....

That is NOT his transmission in that illustration. That's the auto trans from the 92-94 SE. He has a VG.

From his pictures that circular part is DEFINATELY on the side of the transmission. Just above it you can see the pan/cover for the valve body. On the VG trans the oil pan/cover is on the top instead of the bottom.

Yup you guys were right. On closer inspection (sticking a cup under the car) it is tranny fluid. Shows how much I know about my own car. I'll get her into the shop monday and have updates as it is repaired.

Well turns out it was as simple as a busted O-ring grand total of $87 after labor, and A/T fluid change. Sure am glad its nothing worse.
