Tach Problem Now

well trying to rig up my 93 and now the tach cutout on it. I have a FSM I just want to make sure I am looking in the right direction for the correct wire to fix.

The Facts:

1. Speedo and all other gauges work fine, only tach is out
2. Previous owner stated "they had an auto start hooked up but now it does not work"

So on the backside of the tach there is 3 wire outputs.

a green/orange coming from the speed sensor. Since the speedo still works I am understanding that this wire is fine? am i correct?

one output form the tach connects into the 12 volt feed that feeds the speedo, tach, water temp and fuel guages. Since the other guages all work fine I undertsand that this wire is fine.

Last wire is a Green wire that as the FSM states it runs tot he other wire on the speedsensor in the transmission. I also checked MrGones wiring info for the SAFC2 and it has a tach signal wire coming out of the ecm. So should I looked more toward the ECM (This is what I have a hunch towards) or more towards the speed sensor for a bad connection/cut wire.

I knwo this is kind of a confusing question of sorts. Thanks for any help anyone can lend here.
