They looked good but did they perform up to the task. NO!! The stock headlight housing scatters the beam and you won't be getting what you pay for out of the HIDS. If you convert your headlights to e36's or cefiro's you'll see a massive difference over stock using halogen bulbs. I still have my cefiro headlight with hopes that I will find a black max again to put them in. Go projector first then go HID. Trust me you'll be happier than ever without ever paying over 100 dollars.

Take your headlights and put a piece of cardboard over the passenger headlight. Turn the lights on and trust me you won't notice that your headlight is out. My probe uses the same 9004 bulbs and they are aimed much better and have a focused pattern.

I have done an HID retrofit into my 2nd gen, and VD Providah is correct it disperses the light out too much. My right headlight has a dispersed beam, and my left has a big hotspot. I am going to do a HID projector retrofit to try and remedy these problems. I happened to have used an OEM system that I got off a friends wrecked infinity (ballasts, ignitors, bulbs, glare shield)

Is there a certain model Cefiro headlight that fits the 3rd gen? How is the fitment? Or, is there some write-up I can read on them?

im not focusing on looks btw. im all about performance,
ive orderd over 1,400$ woth of stuff so far for my car strictly performance stuff.
Im rebuilding the hell out of the vg just for starters stage 1 cams from redline, ported and polished head, wsp y pipe, test pipe, custom madrel bent headers, + other goodies.
I figured wasting money on looks wont get me anywhere but performance will, im focusing on performance then finish looks.

I believe the blue craze is still going on...we get so many people at work asking for those "very bright, Acura Bimmer like blue lights" and the sad thing its usually people with like the MOST riced out ugly cars..

also noticed the yellow headlights are coming in, I have some friends that are ricers and their words for that is "bro its jdm" is it just me that thinks that rice? the only yellow light I would have would be my fogs and thats it.

no and yes.....you can get a 9004 bixenon. that gives you the high low setup like a dual filament bulb...

NO because it will look like crap. buy the e36 projectors and put those in first !

get a set of e36 projectors. get hid kit, put it all in.hid in stock headlights is garbage. it will be bright and all but coverage is going to be horrible, alot of hotspots, cause glare to other drivers, etc. even if you retro some projectors into the stock housings, you will still get dispersed lighting due to the fact that the glass cover on the stock housings arent smooth. the coverage will be better but the hid will still not be up to its maximum potential. if you wanna do retro, a major option is to take off the glass cover and put a wade cover on since your gonna have to take the heaadlight apart anyway. that way, you'll probably be the first 3rd gen with retrofitted housings/hid. check out forums.hidplanet.com

actually in the US ALL state laws you can have red anywhere on the vehical aslong as its behind the headlight itself. it falls under the same law as tractor trailers do when they have craploads of red and orange lights on their trailer/truck. orange yellow and red can be anywhere you want aslong as its behind the main headlight. I work for the Connecticut police and this has be verified

but in the pic above i believe it's fair to say that the red lights are at the same point (if not in front) of the headlights. basically you shouldn't see any red from a vehicle in your mirror. the red light(s) should not shine forward.

so you're right...you can have red on the sides and rear of the vehicle...but NOT in front of the vehicle.

ironically you work for the police but can't even follow the law that you preach.

BTW...what do you do for the police department?

i have an internship. and yes u can have red in CT infront of the vehical. in NY and Nj it has to be behind the front fender wall. if u take a sidepick from my car they are all behind minus the blinkers but blinkers can be red/orange/yellow and they arent on all the time. Mine is legal in CT. cops can pull you over to harass u but they cant really do anything and if they do its easy to get thrown out in court.

legally if u want to put underglow the safest thing to do it yellow/orange front/side and red back. ops can harass but cant ticket.

i have had these lights like this for awhile and never gotten any problems. the one cop that pulled me over for them said he thought they looked kewl. its not like that when the headlights are on. and in that pic the blinkers are flashing. so when in normal use the side lights and the red halos are the only things visable.]

to bad we arent in PA. all underglow and stuff like that is legal for street use there ><

ok so let me sum it up..
you go from "it's legal in the entire nation"
to
"it's legal in CT"
to
"it's legal for me since i have cops that don't know the law around me"

your "boss" should be fired since he's/she's there to enforce the law and doesn't know about it. the law was in effect since 94...so what's the excuse now? you being lucky around the law doesn't make it legal.

i didn't ask you to care what i put on my car...but before you open your trap and tell the entire forum that red lights are legal...you might want to check the laws. don't get upset that you were wrong and i pointed that out.

southbury troop A....do you want me to fax them the page from the links about illegal lights so they actually know the law or are you going to handle that?

us highway and road law says any vehicle on the road with red, blue, or green lights is illegal for onroad use. also any blinking or flashing lights other then stock, and any underbody lighitng kit is illegal and even if you read the box it tells you its illegal to use on the road, any red, blue, or green halo fog lights are illegal. Every state has the law that says the same thing because the us constitution passed this law back in the late 90's.

My best friend is a georgia highway state patroll trooper
i even asked him to verify, and he says if he saw your car he would have it impounded for all those lights, its not only illegal but a driving safety hazzard.
Red and blue lights are reserved for police vehicles
green is reserved for emergency management vehicles wich are rarely seen but are reserved for them.

you can not only get a ticket for illegal lighting but a ticket for impersonation of a police official. wich in some states possibly can be considerd a fellony.
In other words being a ricer is illegal
get some real fogs, and take your neons and crap off
only stupid fast an the queer people who buy all apc fart cans and the neons from pep boys.
stop ricing!
learn the law!!!

Go with the retrofits...Anything else is going to going to have subpar performance and annoy oncoming drivers.
