where does it say they are legal?? SHOW ME (don't tell me you saw it on a tractor trailer). i've shown proof from two sources from ct.gov. at what point did you show me something that they are infact legal? you can't even admit that you are wrong here after i shown you proof by citing the actual part of the law for CT. so you coming on the forums telling everyone wrong information that red lights are legal is ok?

sureeee of course you added to your story...nation wide, to state, to local.

find me a tractor trailer with a bunch of red lights FACING THE FRONT OF THE RIG. BTW...you don't drive a tractor trailer. just because you saw it doesn't mean that it's legal.

i'm bitter? you're wrong and i corrected you you're going to pout and run away? usually when members lack a decent come back they point to the bitter mod bit...i'll just add you to the list of those members.

I wouldn't put H.I.Ds in a 9004 light because H.I.Ds do not have brights and the way that the 9004 bulbs are made, they have the low beam and the high beams inside the same bulb.9006 or 9007 which are used in honda's and acura's but one is the low beam and one is the high beam, so it would be okay to do it in one of those types of cars which have one bulb for highs and one for lows. If you put them in your maxima you will lose your high beams and i wouldn't advise that. But i have some light bulbs in my 92 maxima that look just like H.I.Ds. They have a bluish/white light and they have lows and highs. Noyka 9004 Type II. With these high wattage bulbs you will need a high wattage socket or they will burn up your wire harness. You can find both the bulbs and some plug-and-play wire harnesses at www.racinglab.com for about $25 a piece. If you don't want the high wattage bulbs you also don't have to buy the harnesses. That same website has the lower wattage form of these same bulbs too. Hope I gave you some help on your decision. If you need anything else just let me know. I like those lights on your car!!!!

they do have hid kits with high beam and low beam for 9004. only thing is they are expensive. bi-xenon kits usually have a xenon low beam with a halogen high beam built next to it. your talking about 9005 and 9006 bulbs also. they come in various cars ie]j30,es300,rx300 etc. there are also types of projectors that have a motor that moves the cutoff up and down to make it have high beam feature. best bet for you rite now is just get 9007 bulbs and mod them to fit your housing. most cost effective and least work needed to get brighter lights

It's still lame to put hids in a stock maxima head lights. Because of the the beam it puts out. If you get e36 lights with a projector it'll cut the beam off at the right level.

AND RED LIGHTS ONLY MEANS U WANT ATTENTION. I don't care if you don't think so if your lil world.

Wow....way to resurrect a 4 year old dead thread. HIDs in 9004 3rd Gen Maxima housings are retarded. You get no cut off at all and your headlights end out blasting everyone and everything with a blinding wall. The simple rule of HID lighting is that the more color (or kelvin color rating) your headlight produces, the less output you actually have. 4300-5000k HIDs are ideal for pure VISIBILITY. HID kits 6000k and up have severely diminished output. The only people who buy these kits are people who want their headlights to look "cool", not for actual lighting performance.

Reason why cars that come with hids and slapping in hids in a none hid car is because those factory equipped hids have a cut off as to not blind others in other cars driving down the roads. I hope they get those running hids without cut offs. It's retarded running hids without cut offs.
