Man where did you get those yellow fog lights I have been looking for some?? Are those H.I.Ds or are they just blue bulbs?

they are a completely diff fog light. I got them from a buddy of mine who brought them back from over seas in japan when he went.
Someone says there is a set kind of like them at advanced auto parts. The ones they sell at harbor freight tools look totally diff and look like crap.
Look around online.
my old stock se fog lights were paited with jdm yellow lense paint wich can be bought off a few sites.
or you can find yellow window tint or yellow headlight tint and cover your lights in it.
or you can buy yellow h1 bulbs off ebay for your stock fogs
I have yellow h3's in my new fogs.

my headlight bulbs I got from him as well they are poloraig 9004's i think
they are blue as heck!!!

dont have the right tool? All you need is a 10mm socket or a #3 philips head screw driver.

First look straight up and you will see two 10mm bolts (that have screw heads in them) holding the brackets onto the car. Take those brackets off and drop the fogs. Then use a regular philips head to get the two screws off of the back of the fog.

take lens out and swap light...reverse order.

done.

Eventhough they were bought in Japan, they're probably still made in China. My 2cents - look for some older Bosch or Hella lights. I've had 2 sets of Bosch (Pilot series and Touring series) and they are way better than the stock fogs ever were. The Pilots were really sweet, but roadkill took one out and I couldn't find another set to replace them.

On an old car of mine I had a sweet set of Cibie fogs and they were awesome.

They had nice plastic covers, but I had them off in the winter and caught a big rock with one of them. I just tucked them back under the bumper and left it that way when I traded in the car. Too bad, because they would have looked sweet on the Maxima. About the same size, but fawking bright.

I bought Hella yellow bulbs and they weren't very yellow.

Here is a side-by-side comparison. "Hyperwhite" bulbs in the headlights and on the passenger side (left, as you are looking at it) and Hella Yellow bulb on the driver (right):

Not really that yellow like yours are. I am thinking about the capsules. Hopefully, they will be more yellow, while maintaining the white/clear look of the stock fogs.

What I ended up doing was just throwing those bulbs into my old Infiniti, since it had yellow projectors already. It wasn't any better than the stock bulbs in that.

Yeah, I took them out. It wasn't nearly yellow enough, that's why I took them out. I want yellow like backinblack has, but without the bright yellow lenses.

The hyperwhite might look pretty good, but yellow is considerably better in the snow and rain. I am definitely going to get some kind of yellow fogs, I just have to find the right set up. Same thing for my Infiniti.

I thought this thread was about yellow fogs?

I honestly don't think those are rice. IMO, they enhance your vision, especially in snow, fog or rainy weather.

Personally I dont think they look bad, I've heard a few people say yellow fogs look better on black or white cars...I was thinking about it but the g.f told me not to and its not the fact that she controls me but I just dont feel like spending money on bulbs when I just got my bulbs for new fogs. They dont look bad at all on your car...no pun intended but I have noticed that EVERY single ricer friend of mine uses "JDM" as an excuse to RICEFY his vehicle and say its JDM...personally I dont think your car is rice but using the term JDM feels like rice as all the people that are ricers say they are JDM. Enjoy!

Oh and by the way, as you said about heresmyminds Maxima...whether its GXE and yours is SE it doesnt matter as he has same potential as your as both of you have the same freakin engine..so whats with the insult on the GXEs?

if thats callin the front tag rice, thats stupid.
this is not a fake ebay tag, its a real jdm tag, ill take it off and take a picture of the back of it to prove it, only the real ones have the jdm indentured stamp.
and the fake ones have engligh characters, or black lettering and a black border.
try again bro. I dont buy fake stuff, nor is my car rice.
maybe i should throw some 24's on it u will think its cool.
or some 18's or something. and then take my lowering kit off and throw some red fog lights on it
woo woo. leme tell u

I don't see what the problem with an automatic is. Maxima's aren't race cars, automatic maximas make great drivers and are a ton of fun.

The only time a 5spd is really hands down greater than the auto is if say you are on a road course running the gears through turns, even then you would need to have say a minimum $1500 into your suspension, 17" wheels are needed not only for better tire performance, but for the $800+ brakes you need to clear.

The funny part is him saying automatics are trash. A VE auto would put him in his place, instead I think he needs to realize his engine isn't exactly the best pick for his extravagant racing lifestyle. Maybe he'll even realize that most people who live their life a quarter mile at a time (lawls) don't drive Maximas.

The car is licensed in the State of Florida, why do you need license plates for Japan? I can understand if the car is fresh off the boat and you haven't had time to switch the plates, then again it only takes 5 minutes, so instead of replying to this message you could go fix the problem.

I suppose if you constantly shipped the car back and forth it would make sense, but only if you had a Florida plate installed aswell. I'm not sure if that is against your local laws or not, so you may want to go ask before you do so.

Otherwise, I simply see a large, bright, obtrusive, reflective object on the front of your car which serves no purpose and would be more useful to a hobo as a dinner plate.

its just for looks. your not into imports. your into mustangs wich is cool. I love mustangs, and you have the typical mustang fan attitude, hating anyone in there path who does not drive ford.

go to some drifting competitions, or some non ricer car shows. you will see alot of them.
the jdm tags that is. its differnt, alot of people like it, alot of people dont. Thats your opinion. I love it, and all of my friends who i hang out with do too. My best friend with a 350z has one, my friend with the sr swapped 240 does. alot of people do.
so thanks. hate all you want.
and yes it is easy to talk, and its even eaiser when you have the other motor your going to run on sitting in the garage, and the stage 1 cams on the way, as well as as ordering the rest of the stuff to rebuild the motor with on tuesday.

yes, yes I am
I have that typical Mustang fan attitude, hating everyone in my path who does not drive a ford. However I am as much a typical Mustang fan as I am backNblackj30 which allows me to hate anyone in my path who does not drive a ford while owning two Maximas. It allows me to hate on everyone not driving a ford while I have put less than 25 miles on mine in 3 years. I drive more than 25 miles a day, so I have to be driving something, and it certainly isn't a Ford, but since I'm like backNblackj30, I can hate everyone else not driving a Ford, even though I am not driving one myself. I love myself.

what does this have to do with anything? Do you drift your car? Last time I checked, Drifting events are not held on public streets, therefore the cars do not need to be licensed.

The whole point is you come across as quite the boy racer. Now if adding neon lights is just adding weight to the car serving no purpose is rice, so is adding a license plate which only serves as an aid in getting pulled over.

I'll make it easy, the Japanese front license plate serves the same purpose as red neon lights.

now becareful, if that car is rice, your car is rice, and you have already expressed how much you dislike rice.

Have pics?
pics of the motor?
pics of the parts?
pics of the receipt?
What are the specs on the cam?

Why only Stage 1 cams if you are going to run a stage 2 or 3 clutch? It doesn't make any sense .
You'll have to forgive me if I am a bit skeptical. It's just a common thing around here for people to order parts next week, yet years go buy and they still haven't placed the order, but don't worry, it will happen next week.

however a motor has nothing to do with fog lights. If I were you though, I'd create a thread with your shopping list for the parts you are going to order this up coming Tuesday, March 21st, 2006. I am skeptical you know exactly what you need and why because you are asking about what clutch to use or if certain seats fit, etc.

What's the obsession with JDM anyway? I understand for things like the s13 where the silvia offered alot that we couldn't get in the US or other similar examples, but a JDM licence plate? JDM fog lights? does wegner or hella or PIAA not offer an equivelent or better set? It's like, with you, if it's "JDM" it's automatically better than everything else.

I guess maybe I don't understand.

It's really just a fad.

Some things like say the grill or corner lights people like to get from other markets because they are different and they like the look, or they want something that is from the factory, but sets the car apart. IMHO factory parts always seem to accent the car the best.

The reason US market cars have different parts is to meet US laws, so it's fairly safe to say putting JDM parts on a USDM car is illegal.

On the other side though, JDM cars tend to have lower miles which is why a lot of Maxima guys opt for JDM engines to replace theirs, it's often cheaper than a rebuild. Other times some JDM engines have different cam/piston configurations, it just depends on the engine and manufacture.

i know i said i wasnt going to post anymore but thank you for defending me to a point. the blinkers arent always on even though they are red. and when the fog lights are on you dont see the red halos. when the headlights are on you barely notice any of it. go ahead call me a ricer. this car wasnt ment to race. i just enjoy driving and havign something diff. I had neons by the foot rests ever since my first car. Now I have a fear of something rolling under the pedals and not being able to see my feet. so thats why I put them there. as for ricer bulbs i just use hyper white pia's for headlights and a pair of eurodesigns green for fog lights. works good. looks good. anyways thats me Ricer 2 cents. hey admin since u hate me so much chang emy account name to MaximaRicer hahaha.

Hey, stick around. If you're comfortable with your inner-ricer, maybe you could be the token ricer. Every forum has one... Then you can thell US what's rice. 'cause you know, you'd be the resident rice expert or something.

Whatever. I may not like your car (what else can you do with a GXE though?), but I hate to see someone drop off of here just because of a few misguided words.
