Maxima Tail Lights

I saw a 91 maxima on cardomain.com with some skyline tail light covers does anyone know where I can get some?

And does anyone know how to change the freakin stock foglight bulb on a 92 Maxima? I've tried but I can't seem to find a good tool to get the lense off? Can anyone help?

skyline lights come from skylines. Buy them from Japan. Then buy some fiberglass. Buy a hack saw. Buy some beer. Buy some paint. Buy a camera and let us see how they turned out.

Oh, and if i recall you have to take the foglamp off the car to get the bulb out.

For skyline taillights, you can probably get them on Ebay. But you need to do an insane amount of fabrication to get them to look good.

The foglight bulb is easy to replace. Just remove the two philips screws holding the lens.

Do you ever read any of the other threads you post on? I answered both of these questions in response to you where you posted in other threads. Not being rude but if you ask a question go back and see if it was answered before starting new threads since you basically ignored me or anyone else that replied to you.

Anyway I will answer again lol...

No one makes a skyline light kit for our car. You can buy skyline lights (buy mine I am selling them cheap) and fab them in.

To get the fogs out you first pull the fog assy down by taking the 2 10mm bolts taht hold it on to the bumper (look straight up and you will see them). Then you take the two philips screws off the back to take the lens off.

This is the car that I was talking about. They are not actual skyline tail lights, they are more like tail light covers. I was asking where can I find something like this.

I tried to unscrew the two bolts but I accidentally rounded them off. Is there a tool that can get rounded off bolts loose? Is there another way to change the fog light without taking those bolts off?

put coffee cans to get a shape of the red cirlces, tape around the cans , now you have 2 circles masked , spray the rest of the lens with a black paint , there is probally a special kind for the automotive styling, anyway yea remove cans and theres your 2 circles in red .. PM swowlinc , he has done this mod , very similar to the one you see in the pic, and they came out good.

IMO that is one of the cheeziest 3rd Gens I have ever seen. The tails are just what others have said -- spray, and not even good at that. think about the way the light output is compromised with the kit.

Stock tails already have pretty poor light output, esp. when their filthy.
When I had stock tails I always tapped my brakes a few times to make sure the driver behind me KNEW i was braking. I still got hit in the back once.
In the past 2 years I've seen 3 maxis that rear ended in GA. I wonder what would happen in a case where the lights where painted like that. Insurance wise.

They aren't G35's but I've never never noticed a problem with the output from them

I agree with you..although I really don't like the trunk lid filler piece. I wish it was just painted..same thing with the new Cavalier, it looked better without the filler piece on the trunk lid..just my opinion though.

The outside lenses are RED plastic. You plan on bleaching the red out?

Kool, being an owner of 2 berettas, I do know what you're talking about.

The inside of a Beretta taillight has a red lense that is removeable, but it is not legal. To answer your question, no the Maxima does not have that removeable lense on the inside of the taillight. Its 2 pieces, the housing and the outter lense.

well you guys forget about the early SEs. Some have taken the red out of the 89-91 SEs for clear lenses. It looks really bad imo though. First of all you can see the entire assy that holds the bulbs and secondly the corners of the lens is still red because you cant take that part out.

I had this same exact problem. Look at where the harness coming down from the trunk lid goes into the main harness by the seat belt base. It seems to be a common design problem, where when the trunk lid goes up and down over time, it rubs at this area, and can break the wires internally. This is exactly what happened with mine. Try checking the continuity in the wires at different spots around that area. If you need more info, let me know.
