I read on Edmund's that ABS became an option in '91. I'm confused as to whether the SE's had ABS previous to that, or that was when they first became available?

I've got an 89SE (5spd) w/ out abs.. and a 90se (5spd) with ABS... I'm pretty sure it was an option from 89+ for all max's (SE or GXE)

 

yup justin's right...it was just an option...my 91 SE does not have ABS...but a friends does...

get going about 40 mph and romp on the brakes. if it pulses you have abs if it doesn't you do not. also i believe that there is a light on the dash that lights up when the car is started or if the key is turned to the "on" position with out starting the engine.

 

If you have an ABS light on your dash, you have it!
