Custom 4dsc Sticker interest Thread - now with pics

As stated since we can no longer buy the 4dsc stickers from the dealer, I was wondering if there is interest in a custom 4dsc sticker that resembles the original quite closely. Also I apologize if this thread is unappropiate.

I plan on making them the same white ink on a clear background that will be used on the inside of the window. possibly depending on interest maybe get outside style ones.

I have wanted a set of my own for a while but as everyone knows to get multiple stickers made is just as cheap as get singles done.

I will try to get an image up asap of the sticker design. Basically it will be a little bit bigger with wider/thicker lines. The sticker size I am planning on is around 4" x 2.5"

As for a pricing setup I would think maybe 4 stickers for $10 american shipped. This is not a for sale thread though I just want to see if people are half interested in getting a couple stickers at the same time I get mine

So mostly I am looking for interest/feedback/ideas. Thanks

I will be interested if I can see a pic of the finished product!!

I have wanted some of these to put in my back windows too

Would It be possible to buy just two and not four because I can't think of any use for the other two stickers !!

I LOVE the idea that the stickers are mounted from the inside and not the outside!

That's not a bad idea! My car was missing the sticker when I bought it. And I'd like to have one!

I have a supplier that can make the sticker. The cost would be 2 for $5, demensions would be 4 inches long by 2 inches tall and would be able to come in White, Black, or Silver depending on the application. I'm asking them for "preview" pictures so I can get you guys a preview of what the final product looks like.

Just wondering, would you guys want these stickers in die-cut vinyl where the each letter would be a seperate sticker, or would you guys like it just as it originaly was in this picture below? Thanks

I'd be interested in some most definitely! Until I've seen the preview pics of the other styles you mentioned, I'd go with original style.

Thanks scriz for hijacking my thread. :P

(this is now completely hypothetical since there doesn't need to be 2 org members suppling the same sticker)

Anyways. Mine will be made as the originals were in white. They will not be die cut since pretty much anyone can get a die cut sticker made and i don't ifnd they look "authentic"

I do not plan on modifying the orignal work much, little thicker lines, possibly a tad bit bigger. Also I would also send them out in packlages of 2. Juyst thoguht most wouild possibly want some extras

Whoops, sorry..Didn't realize that your post was actually dealing with getting them made lol. All I read was "I wonder if someone could get them made" guess I should read more thoroughly. Anyways my supplier emailed me and said they are unable to make the print due to its complexity and their die cast machine just busted..oh well. I'll be ordering some from you when you get them made

I still have mine, but they're getting a bit faded and flakey. I would probably buy some reproductions if they were close enough to the originals

well here I will post a what I am working on. Mind you that I know the bottom text is not done yet, Also I am still working on them so this is just a sample to show you bawsically what I intend to do. I do plan on having the same text under the 4DSC logo.

Also I would like some feedback on the lines, as you noticed the first image has rounded ends and the second has square ends. The first is more like the oringal. Also I will post apic of the original scan and you will see what i mean but the lines being just a little fatter.

Also I will look into getting maybe half of them printed for the outside style and half for the inside style. I am not sure however, I do agree about the tint problem however. I just want a factory looking sticker and i find with outside window stickers they start to peal easily nd then start looking very ratty.

I like the rounded edges better. If these can go on the outside (because of tint), I'll order a dozen from you.

Well like i said I can order either inside or out... another part of the question for everyone.

Do you want outside mounting style or inside mounting? only difference really to me is mirroring the image file before i send it out to be printed.

Im down as long as the finished product looks good enough.. Good luck.

Edit: Anybody wanna hear the rumor I heard flying around on where they got the idea for the 4DSC thing aside from our cars being the pinnacle of sedan sportiness?

I think I'd opt for outside stickers...

I will call around local spots tommorow to see about the possibility of printing off different "colors" on the clearn vinyl.

I could do them in other colors as ordered but they would be then a die cut sticker (like the maxima.org stickers)

I planned on just getting a bulk of clear with white lettering printed on them.

Also for anyone wondering this is not just a scanned/cleaned up version of the original. I have redone it into an EPS path file. SO I could offer them depending on price and people wanting them in any size it coudl be done from window banners to side ones. These could only be die cut however.

Here is the final image (other small tweaks I might do)

Both of those look excellent, has a consensus been reached on whether it will be an inside or outside sticker yet?

Very nice work, but the C does NOT look symmetrical and it's also not as wide as the rest of the letters. I'm probably not interested but if anyone else is a perfectionist this matters.

Thanks for the help, but thats how the originals looked. Check it out on page one. It may seem that way to you because the picture is giagantic.

Edit: I just had to stop by again and mention that our usernames are very similar

Haha, yeah we do; nice name!

I disagree. Load up Photoshop and measure the length of the top bar of the vertical portion of the "C" and then measure the length of the bottom bar of that same vertical portion. The bottom one is short because the curve of the "C" is uneven. If you measure the actual logo I think you'll find they're even.

Man I love the 4DSC logo so much...classic high-tech 80s faux-digital look!
