Update: Rear Window Regulator
I finally decided to find out why my rear window quit working.
So it was definately the regulator. It took some time before I was able to take it out but the cable was all screwed up and chewed up.
When I bought the car, the radio, antenna, driver's side door and hood latch did not function correctly.
After fixing all those problems, the window regulator goes out.
I don't mind spending time tinkering with this car, what hurts is when I got to shell out cash.

3 out of my 4 have been replaced! but the guy that had it before did it! phew! i think he also had the VTC's redone, cause he told me he had like 1500 bucks of "valve work" done. so he probably didn't understand what was going on. anyway, my rear left one is starting to go, it sometimes works fine, othertimes it is a biach! when i pull it forward toward the front of the car it seems to go up easier. the regulator has just got to be going.

If the cables not too chewed up they can be fixed, just takes some time. My drivers side rear window didnt move when I got my car, took me about 3 hours to respool the cable on the roller, and to rig up a way to hold the top side of the cable in the hole because the plastic was cracked. I used some thin sheetmetal strips crimped around it. so far its been about 2 months and still working like new. Hope this helps save someone else some cash!!!

Well my cables were chewed up, but still intact. I did try to respool them back on the roller, but then realized that the top holder was broken.
My question is that when you respooled the cable, did you have power to the motor? I would assume that it would be harder to respool it if I brought it to my kitchen table since I would need the motor to turn the roller.

My passenger rear went out. I rarely ever use that one, and I am the only one who drives this car.
One hot day I decided to crack all four windows, about 1 inch for ventilation. Then...all of a sudden...without any warning...I hear a snap*pop*crack. It went without warning.
What I don't understand is that it was rarely ever used. In my opinion, I think that plastic parts just dry and rot out...therefore, they break and then lead to this problem.
my rear left one goes real slow and then stops, most of the time. sometimes it goes right up. i dont' get it. when i pull the window forard it goes up alot easier and faster, like the window is shifting forward and back. i don't get it.

flyry110 - Mine did this after I installed the new regulator, but then I realized that when my g/f was holding the window up, droped it and it fell off track. Dont know if it means your's is no longer in track or what. When they start rolling up real slow its gettin close to you needing a new window motor, at least from my experience.
well my windows roll up and down with not problem..but recently they would roll down from the main controller *the one on the drivers panel* but when I try to roll the back up..they won't. I have to do it from each door. like roll the shotgun window from it's own button on it's door and then the backs ones too...from their own doors. WHat could the problem be?
thank you
