Bizarre Electrical Problem

Heres one for all you tech heads out there
This problem has happened to me twice now, i switch my lights on but my dash lights dont come on. However when i open my door, the dash lights appear. Then when the car is off, i switch the lights on with the doors closed and my rear demister starts to flicker on and off. Oh and also when the car is on and the dash lights arnt working my intermittant wipers dont work?? Its weird
It is working again now, but its bound to happen again.
Anyone got any suggestions??
