Crankshaft pulley

Any good tricks to removing the crankshaft pulley without destroying something? Mine wont budge and I remember a while back someone else on the forum had same problem. I also noticed that the outside edge in one spot looks like it is chipped..will this hurt anything?

I held the pulley with a strap wrench and used impact gun and bolt came right out but now the pulley wont budge. There is not any tapped holes to use a puller so I cant figure out how to get the thing off.

3-jaw puller. Places like IdiotZone commonly rent them out at no charge. If you have a choice of sizes get the large one.

I have a 3 jaw puller but it wont reach clear behind first two pulleys to the lip. Also I am afraid of busting the lip of the pulley off..I guess I will try to locate a larger one...

Spray lots of penetrating oil...lot and lots.. i just removed mine to put in a UDP a few months back.. after lots of penetrating oil, I was able to tap it off with a hammer from behind.
urs might be rusted on because of all the salt and stuff they use out there.. if you get a puller, it should come right off..,good luck

Honestly, I don't think it will hurt anything, but still try and locate a larger one.

If you need another stock pulley, I have one. I strongly suggest buying a cheap seal puller. It's worth it, trust me

Is it the pulley or the belts? Are the belts tensioned tight enough?? If you don't have splash guards in that area road water/ car wash/ hose can get the belts wet and they will squeak when you first turn the car on.

the only way i could think a crank pulley would squeak is if the key broke and was just spinning on the crank... if thats the case, and if it isn't too fubar, you just replace the key(proper name eludes my mind atm....) and you should be okay. if its eaten up, may need a new crank.
