got bored so decided to take some night time pics

hey everyonbe Happy Easter! I got bored yesterday night so I decided to take some nighttime pics of the Max, inside and out. ( the inside pics need some work though lol, my camera had trouble yesterday). Feel free to comment and post your own pics, would be cool to see all your maxs at night.

Sylvania Silverstars at work hehehe

Changed the white ugly bulbs to high intensity Blue LEDs (expensive f***ers)

THE MAX

work in progress, still need to change the HU bulbs to blue and the Fuel Temp gauge to blue, will do it today most likely

cool, if you need help or something let me know. Best way to do it is to take a 1k resistor, solder it to the positive side of the LED, then take a piece of wire and solder one to the other lead of the resistor and the other piece to the negative side of the LED, dont try to solder the wires to the connectors in the door, it wont hold, but just wrap them around, ill try to take some pics of the socket and the LED in it. When you get the resistor try to get a 1/2 Watt power dissipation, that will protect your LEDs the best.

1K resistor colors: Brown, Black, Red in order.

euh.. u sure the're LEDs? usually a 194 bulb is just a white bulb painted blue. Mine are actual Light Emitting Diodes. the 194 blue bulbs i have in the gauge cluster casue a high intensity LED has a narrow beam and it wouldnt light up the panel correctly, but in the doors they're great, and they don't drain your battery so much.

If you wan't to spread the light out on an LED then take a dremel to it and grind down the very top So it's not round (Make it flat) and it will diffuse the light, thus you can use them to light the guages up.

you're right i haven't thaught about it. thanks for the idea. But i think ill just keep the regular blue bulbs in the gauges, the High intensity Led might drown the numbers in too much blue would be hard to see. ill run a test and maybe take some pics of it if my camera is up to it

they are led bulbs but the bottom of it fits in a 194 and they work perfect without any extra resistors or any thing

nice - haven't thought about led swapout. my gauges are all original and work pretty well. tach gauge operating erratic, but found another post on that.
