Arg!!! Cracked Rear Manifold!

Well I just had my front studs replaced by a friends dad for $100. Car is a lot quieter, but still made a whistling noise, and wasn't quite as fast as it shoud be. So I got under it, to discover the rear manifold is coming apart, and the studs are all fine!!! Is there ANY WAY POSSIBLE to have this welded up without tearing everything apart and replacing it? I have a good spare from my parts car, but then I need to remove it from two cars, and re-install it on one. I would also have to spend $57 on all new exhaust stud parts again.

Cracked manifolds can be welded... ON a bench with alot of skill if you don't want them to crack again. Sounds like replacing will be your best bet.

To do it correctly you have to enlarge the crack, heat the whole manifold and then pour on this special powder and heat that up till it melts. You may as well get another manifold.

If you pulled it and replaced it you would not have to worry about it again for a long time... The cost does suck, I would have to agree with you on that as that is what I will be doing this weekend... Good luck to you...

VE rear manifold? I have an extra for sale.PM me ALOT faster than taking the spare one out. And if the studs were replaced with the upgraded ones, you don't need to replace them again. You should try to get a new gasket though. Nissan 3pc ones tend to fall apart when removed.
