Radiator fans not working?
Radiator fans not working?
My car hasn't overheated, but I know the radiator fans used to come on. I havn't noticed it at all for a year, not even last summer. Is there a thermastat or sensor to check?
Also.. Where and how do I flush the heater core?

i can't beleive that you went through a summer without the fans working. winter time up north, maybe - but not in the south.
the fans are controlled by the ecc based on the water temperature sensor. if your dash gauge works, the sensor is ok. there are 3 relays for the fans by the battery. if you unplug the fan from the wire harness, you can jumper battery voltage to it and test them and see if the motors are good.
12 volts to pin B and ground to pin C runs it at low speed.
12 volts to pins A & B and ground to pins C & D runs it at high speed.
to flush the heater core, disconnect the hoses as they come out of the firewall.

did you check your ECU for codes? If you have a bad sensor, it will throw a code.
If your car hasn't overheated, maybe you haven't needed the fans.
When you get back from a fairly long drive, let the car idle for a while and see if either the fans kick on or the temp gauge starts rising.

I'll have to try that. It takes about 5 minutes to warm up. I did change the thermostat and since then it'll stay just a tad under the middle mark. I'm losing a little water some where, probubly around the water pump. Not feeling like i sealed that up great.

if you unplug the one for the ECU the fans should instantly kick on.
