Cooling System

Well, the past 2 weeks I have installed clear corner lenses and a FSTB to my 90 GXE. Also I've been working on the interior a little bit. Things are coming along great and my next task as soon as the parts come are a new heater core and radiator. Tomorrow is the big 28 for me, so I will be getting some cash for "my day" and I'm going to send off for the Heater core and Radiator then.

So now my question. I want to clean the cooling system REAL well, making sure none of the gunk from the old radiator gets in the new. What kind of cleaner do you guys recommend using?
We carry the Prestone Cooling System Cleaner, but the directions to it say to completely drain the system, and pour in 2 containers of the cleaner and drive around on it for a while. I just don't feel that is safe, but I do only drive about a total of 5 miles to and from work. But I just don't want to chance overheating and screwing up valves and everything else.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
