knock sensor erorr code

3 long 4 short flashes - bad knock sensor. I checked local stores - they don't stock this part. I don't know if because of bad knock sensor I have this problem: on accelerations engine seems to rev a little, then looses power, loose rpms and stalls. It nappens once/twice a day. Now I also hear a explosion thru tail pipe. I ckecked all coil packs - their resistance between "-" and "+" is .9 ohms on all 6 pcs. Is this problem because a bad knock sensor? If anyone knows what to check, please let me know. Thanks, all.

internetautomart has the k/s http://www.internetautomart.com/maxi...n/tuneup.html?
The k/s being bad will not cause stalling issues, just a lack of power in the lower rpm band...
The stalling problem may be a bad mass air flow sensor...

I checked the resistance of Air Flow sensor. I couldn't see any markings on the plug, so I named the terminals from 1 to 4 looking at sensor's body (one being closet to the car's left side). So, the resistance as follows:
bet. 1 and 2 - 5.74 kOhms
bet. 1 and 3 - 5.75 kOhms
bet. 1 and 4 - 18.44 kOhms
bet. 2 and 4 - 12.69 kOhms
bet. 3 and 4 - 12.69 kOhms
these reading were done with ingnition off.
I don't know how to test this sensor, so I don't know if it's good or bad.
I also checked all the vaccum hoses and replaced one in question underneath throttle body. tomorrow i will and see how the car acts.

Knock Sensor Test And Replacement

Here's a writeup on how to test the knock sensor and replace it if necessary.

Hope it helps.

your stalling problem is probably one or more of your coil packs is faulty and needs to be replaced. They can crack or even look test fine and fail under load (acceleration). I think about 9 times out of 10 this is the problem on 92-94 SEs (VE30DE engine) that has stalling/bucking issues.

If you pay and search, this topic has been gone over thoroughly.

i also have the explsion though the tailpipe, only happens once every 2-3 weeks ... sounds like a tennis ball is gonna pop out the tailpipe. i was also wondering what this is.
