Speedo Issues

Hey, Today while driving the max, the speedo decided to have a mind of its own.
Generally going haywire, seemd to basicaly do whatsver it wanted.

for example while stoped, it read 20 once, 100 another time, but generally it goes all over the place, basicaly not reading the corect speed.

Just wondering if these were easly looked at for issues?

Hey, this is actually my car, it is a 1990 model and the speedo was working fine last night, when we got in the car this morning the speedo was going haywire. Since everything in this car is electric, i guessed it might be a loose cable or maybe a bit of water or something.

Is it easy to take the dash apart to get to the speedo connections, also where else would i need to check for loose connections..

Thanks guys

i had this problem too.....i replaced the cluster gauges to fix the problem.

as for removing the gauge, there is a write-up out there somewhere, others could probably chime in with the link.

first I'd look at the speed sensor on the top of the trans.
is the odometer working?
