still learning site.

i don't want to post useless questions that may have been answered, but can't search site unless i enter forum and use Ctrl-F to search each page, move to the next & repeat.

Is there an easier way to search the site or forums (w/o getting permission issue message).

Looking for ECU code stuff (how to check them). MAF - not sure of this abbreviation. DOHC information, as my GXE has an engine w/DOHC as opposed to SOHC.

Thanks in advance.

No GXE 3rd gen in the US came with the DOHC motor. You are either mistaken with the motor you have or you did an engine swap...or you actually have an SE.

You guys were once noobs too and giving these not called for answers are not needed. He /she will donate once they get used to the site. Pressing the issue isn't gonna help but actually helping him instead of being jerks would actually show why this site is here in the first place.

Here are a couple of questions for you.

Is the trimming around the windows black?
Are your guage (mph tachometer etc) faces white (stock)?
Does the mph guage stop at 125 or 145?
Does you engine look like this

or this

If you answered yes to the first two and 145mph guages you have a 92-94 SE version that comes with the engine in the blue car.
The black car shown only comes with GXE form 1989-1994 versions and all versions SE and GXE within the years of 1989-1991.

Also if you have a manual tranny you indeed have an SE.

a common misconception is that since each head has one cam that it is a Dual overhead cam motor.
The DOHC and SOHC moniker is in in reference to how many cams per head it has not per motor.
I still like my SIBC motor personally

we should actually call a VE a quad cam motor

haha I see no "not called for answers". I pointed out he didnt have a DOHC GXE (was that accurate or not since he does live in the US?) and others pointed to the ghetto search and stickies. Dont see the problem with those answers. Also he asked how he could search...the answer is donate for the actual search feature. I dont think anyone was pressuring him into donating.

There are a LOT of other threads you could jump on people for bashing the noobs but not this one. You are trying to make something out of nothing IMO.

You're right.
My bad I completely skipped over where he had asked how to search. It's just that most people are throwing the donate flag quicker than what's necessary and a simple answer is what was needed. I kinda answered when I first got up this morning also so I probably was talkin out of my ****. I just looked at what he asked then the next post was someone showing how to donate. If I read a few sentences more I would have noticed that. That's also why I didn't answer how to search cuz I never saw it.

Got rid of her because I killed yet another auto tranny and don't feel like doin a 5-speed swap. So I am now driving a 89 camry v6 Until I decided if I want another probe or maxima. Probes are quicker IMO (compared to the VG max) and I had an auto probe.
