Rough Idle

Lately when i've been starting the car it starts up right away but the idle is really rough. The engine shakes, the car feels sluggish and the exhaust sounds louder than normal. After i drive around for a bit all these things go away and the car seems back to normal. This has never happened before. Anybody know what it could be?

Haha. It hasn't been that long, maybe a few months. I'm getting a tune up tomorrow so we'll see what happens. I just wanted to see if i could narrow the possibilities down a little bit first.

Is there any under dash wiring that would cause rough idle/miss?

Just had my stereo ripped off and had to reconnect a harness just to get ignition switch working. Car ran smooth as silk for a day and a half. Started it up an hour later and car was shaking. Rough at any speed, cold or warm. Starts fine.

I had the same problem, 2 weeks later my water pump took a dive.
when i had my pump replaced, my belts were all adjusted and the problem was gone.
never found out what it really was though.

I changed the oil and flushed all the fluids and so far the sound has gone away. I don't know what it was from though.

Mine turned out to be fuel injector #4. No relation to dash wiring, just a string of bad luck.
