Falling Apart!!

Well, yet more problems. Today I go out to my car to go to work and find a huge crack in the sunroof of my car. It looks like it might have been from the heat we have here in the South. DAMN!! I just had to have a plastic shroud put on it like 2 wks. ago and now the sunroof. I guess I shouldn't complain, its still running like a charm (crosses fingers). Any ideas on where I can get a cheap one? Nissan is asking $800! I found one off of a salvaged Maxima, for $150. Thats seems reasonable though. Any of guys know how to install if I go with the salvaged part? Thanks for any help guys..

Man, mine has a crack too!!! But it has been there for two years i think, i didnt really have to money to fix it, i put that cheap window tint over it (from walmart) it has been fine, hope it doesnt cave in yeah nissan rips you off, i asked them too, they said it conforms to the cars body or some crap, but $900 bucks for a piece of glass is stupid, go with the salvaged part

I too had a crack. Two actually. Found one at a salvage yard for $175 I think. Was winter and my car sat outside at the time so I had them install it for like $20.
I watched the guy do it and it looked easy. I'm sure you could put it in yourself!

I was thinking of just leaving it (crack) there for a bit. I don't wanna spend anymore money on this car for at least another couple of months. I'm looking at a 2001 SE 20th Anniversary just like the one you see on my posted ad. What do you all think, pretty color huh? $32k is the asking, so far I've talked dealership down to $29k. I'm going to finish the paper work on it today, and hope to have it in my driveway today as well. I'm keeping the the 94 SE too, I couldn't let her go right now. Back to the sunroof, MAXIMUSSE, how does your sunroof look with that extra tint over it? Can you tell there is a crack there? And PLUM88, did you have any problems with yours after the replace was put in there? Leaks? Air? Thats what I wanna avoid. Once you replace something like that is it ever the same again? Thanks for your help...

Zero problems since replacing the sunroof!
Works like new.
I have been thinking about replacing my 92 SE 5 spd.
Thought about a '00 Acura TL. Nice ride with 225 horses.
But...I got the scoop on the 2002 Nissan Altima.
Nice!! Going to be about the size of the current Max.
Will have an optional 3.5 V6 with 240 horses!!!!!!
Same engine will go into the 2002 Max with 260 or more horses. The 2003 Max is supposed to be bigger.
I am going to hold off through the summer and check into the Altima in the fall. They don't go on sale until Sept.
Good luck with the purchase but you might want to hold out for a 2002 with more go for the dough!

Really Easy:
Pull the shade back first.
There are 2 plastic covers under the glass (one on each side) held on by one screw. Remove the screw and slide forward to remove.
Behind the covers, there are some bolts (2 or 3 per side) remove these, and the glass will lift off. Notice the position of the long flat washers that rest on the brackets after removal
Simple.
put your new glass on, and put everything else bac like it was
