This problem began after I installed my Place Racing CAI. When I drive my max (VE-automatic) around it would be fine for the most part. Very powerful, but occasionally it would act up and stop accelerating even when I press on the gas. The RPM would keep revving up, but the MPH is not going any higher the 25 or so. It seems like it is on neutral and stuck on 1st gear or something like that. So I have to pull over and restart the car everytime the car does this. It works fine after that, but it happens at least once everytime I drive it. Very frustrating. Have any of you guys experience the same problem I have? Is it the CAI? Can you give me some suggestions as what it might be. Thanks.

Check your Mass Air Flow sensor connection. Make sure its connected properly, and you could also clean the connections and squeeze down the female side a little so that the connector grabes better.

What is a Mass Air Flow sensor? Is it the black thing connecting the two tubes together? I don't have a instruction manual.

the sensor is..

the sensor is the thing which attached the two metal tubes of the cai together...it was the part that bolted on to the last pipe...it has netting on both sides and has a little sensor on the inside...it has a square on top and a purple label on the front with numbers...

i think it is your mass air flow sensor too, those things are very sensitive. i had a cold air intake and it was way better then regular intake. my high end pulled alot harder but now its been raining alot. i decided to to put back my old intake and do something similiar to this
