Keep the Max. Unless it is in dire need of repair, you should keep it. Why do you want a frontier anyway? BTW, you will have to finance that other vehicle in your parents' name(s) because you are not of legal age to enter into a contract. Maybe you can convince your parents to help you out.

man you're lucky to even have a car at 16...I was straight up riding the bus and walking until I graduated high school. IMO you don't want the stress of car payments at 16,(cause it was hell for me at 20 ) its more stress than you need, IMO stay with the Max, keep it stock and save up for the next couple of years and when you graduate buy what you want(ie-Frontier)...its not worth it now, but of course the final decision is up to you....

I'm not gonna really get into it....

but it all comes down to amount of clientile and how bad you really need the money...my cousin(RIP) used make a couple bucks here and there, but then they blow it on stupid stuff like tennis shoes and **** like that and the process just repeats itself to no real prosperous outcome, its all about frame of mind in that "business" it can be both a downfall and profitable, but thats all I have to say about that...

Re: I'm not gonna really get into it....

To add to what DA-MAX said before, I don't understand why you feel you "need" a new car at age 16. I'm 21, and my 92 SE is my third and by far NICEST car I've owned to date. I have bought all my cars (3) up front and paid for insurance, repairs, etc. A new car (and the financial ball and chain that comes with it) is not worth it for someone who can't get a full-time job. My friend's mom is a banker and she gave him a loan so he could buy a $8000 Chevy or something, and the monthly payments rendered him broke for years when school was in session.
An alternative to selling drugs to make $5k in a summer is to work for a restaurant / caterer. You end up w/ no social life, but if the money is that important, its not too difficult to pull down $5k in a summer doing that kind of work. My $0.02

Do what I did when I was younger.. Work 2 jobs. I worked 7 days a week morning till midnight. Plus I used to invest in stocks.. made an average of $3,000/month but the stocks these days are not doing so well so I'd advise against that.

If you need some good money you could always become a pimp. I hear that there is good money in that business. I'm sure a market will not be hard to find. You will just have to look for a few attractive "products".

think about this

hey think of this. my max was it mint well even better than mint condition. but when you go to collage you will find out about the door dings the a$$ holes who cant drive and run right in to you in the daytime .. go figure. this happened to me. thats another story. so say you drop all your hard earned money (plus you are indebt up to your a$$) to nissan and to your parents. you cant buy beer, or food. and gas becasue you are sooo far in debt to everyone. haha think of that. i wanted to sell my max and be a new BMW but then i would be working my a$$ for a damn car. think about it man. your collage car IS GOING TO BE SMASHED UP. i know. i parked my maxima all by it self. and washed it. did not take it to callage during the winters. but now i don't really care to much about it. well i still wash it sometimes. but after the A$$ hole hit me. i see my car as just a car. good luck, that is just my two cents.

I see what whitymax is talking about. I'm in a situation where I haven't been able to mod my car in a long long time and it seems like my urge to buy mods is decreasing everyday. I haven't washed my max in over 3months, I've never cleaned the rims, I took out my stereo system (it's back to stock speakers and CD player), and I replace parts with OEM not aftermarket. This is the total opposite of me with my old SkyBlue max. I would baby that car, washed it once a week, cleaned the rims twice a week, bought mods weekly, replaced parts with aftermarket. It's just weird how I've changed this way.

well...

well nevin im guessing its becasue you totalled your skyblue max...once you put all that work and $ into a car and you total it then its not the same anymore...now you have i think its a 90 max? and its nto really worth moding it liek you said because lack of power...and i think it may be because youve seen hard work and $ go down the draian nd dont want it to happen again

and also in college, not only can't people drive, but you might also get involved in a nasty relationship where one day you wake up, go to your car, and find the damn thing keyed to all hell, tires slashed, things broken, dented sheet metal, but then again, that can happen anytime but more so during college because lots of people go through college in a drunken stupor.

haha

I have a pearl white 90 gxe max as well and I havent washed it in about 2 months.. Im in college too and I dont think investing a bunch of money into such an old car is wise for me.. I just got a job, but still, why should I be broke all the time for some dumb car? My next car is gonna be a 4th gen max, this 1990 has been unbelievably reliable. I think its the color that causes us pearl white owners to get lazy cuz I can barely tell when its dirty :laugh

I tell u what. For some extra cash, go see Baby Boy at the theaters. Jody (Tyrese) has a vision on how to make extra $$$ n it works. Sell womens cloths on the streets n in no tyme you will have your 5k if not more. Hence u can even do the "PIMP" deal on the side...
