Disaster!!

Hey guys and gals!! It's been a while, well my sister wrecked my Max, (well to be fair it wasnt her fault she got ran off the road by an idiot watching his hands instead of the road). She did two 360 and hit a metal barrier on the highway, dont worry my sis is ok, the max isn't . The damage is: front left and right fenders are banged , radiator is of the clips , but otherwise functional and not punctured, left headlight is history, front bumper is byebye too. This is the "minor" damage that im not worried about. the back is another story. My right hand back quaterpanel is beat to sh***, its halfway into the trunk, trunk lid itself is bent but not badly, as for the frame , it looks ok however the back right corner is also bend but it looks like it can be pulled without much trouble, My question is : does anyone have a spare right hand back quaterpanel ( i realize its in one piece and cutting is involved but i just can't scrap my max , all mechanical is ok, tranny , engine suspension everything is ok, its just body damage)and trunk lid with the center piece Plz help me save my MAX.

here it is in graphic detail :

ill add more pics later

I have a pass quarter but it would cost a fortune to get to you. Its not as hard as you might think to swap. If you have a drill, grinder and welder its not too hard at all. If you do decide to do it I recommend you go ahead and buy a spot weld cutter. Its so much easier to cut the spot welds with that over a regular drill bit.

my swap (I have done it 3 times on 3rd gens...two driver's quarters and one pass quarter)...

and After:

Good luck with it.

well I am in the southcentral US in Mississippi. I imagine it would cost more in gas than shipping.

its a little time involved to get it off so I would need at least $150 for it. I think the last time I checked on one from a junk yard around here (before I got my parts cars) it was going to be about $250. That was about 4 years ago or so.

Looking at the pictures though it appears you have more structural damage than just the quarter and will need to cut out or reshape.

Unless you REALLY love that car and want to fix it, I highly recommend letting the insurance take it and find another car. you're looking at weeks of work and $6000+ in bodywork to get it fixed. new hood, both fenders, front bumper, rear bumper, finisher, tail light, trunklid, right Q panel... repaint the entire car...

sniff sniff

i really love this car !!!but i know what you mean, however the hood is ok. biggest problem is the back Qpanel. front fenders , i have no problems with finding them cheap as well as for the bumpers. trunk lid and q panel thats the bad part. as for the inusrance , the companies here are douchebags, they wont pay, cause for them it was "preventable".

$6000 would by you a great car. maybe you should give it some thought. If the repair goes past 3k you might as well go for another one.

trust me...your frame is "effed"

for a car that's pushing 10yrs+...it is bad.

take the advice of others and get yourself another car....unless you have some $ and turn this busted car into a project car.

If he doesn't tell you to scrap it, it's because he needs the money

I sure as heck wouldn't try to save it. Considering how easy it would be to get another one. Ones you get another one and call this one your parts car. You'll feel golden.
