Replacing VE water pump

Well I've got around 160K, and it's time to replace it (starting to leak coolant). I've been putting it off since I've heard it's a PITA.

I've looked at the write-ups already but had two questions.

1) Did people use a pre-made gasket or liquid gasket (RTV)? Which one holds up better in the long run? Just concerned about messing up the RTV in the tight space.

2) Where did you buy your OEM replacement pump?

Any other tips/pointers are appreciated.

Thanks (and Happy 4th).

But that's an AZ pump, so I'm pretty sure you'll be doing it again.
