I have a lowered 1990 Maxima and I have recently found out that my two front tires are going bald again. The last time I changed my tires was a year and a half ago and I am seriously wondering about what tires I should get. Do you all think that the alignments are just screwy and I have to fix that first. Do you think it's possible to get widder front tires..? If so what size? Anybody hit me back with any info. Thanks

Ok first off there is this thing I like to call rotating the tires, I know this may be a new concept to you but it involves rotating the rear tires to the front. Anyway, YES GET AN ALIGNMENT DONE!!! after lowering the car the alignment will be off. I just had mine done and the front toe was way out, like .66 on the right and .53 (spec is around 0-.05) on the left(spec is around 0-.05). Kinda looked like this \---/ going down the street.

Thanks for the reply

Yeah I guess I'll get the alignements done...but after I get tires. My car has the Eibach pro kit which lowers the car about inch and a half. Anybody have inputs in what tires I should get. What size should I get if I want to get wider tires?

First off how much are you looking to spend on tires, $200, $500? That makes a big difference. I'm assuming you have the stock SE wheels which are 15X6.5. The stock size is 205/65, if you want bigger 215/60 or even 225/60 will fit without the speedometer being off.

What type of rims are you using??

if you're running 15's I'd say stay with the stock 205/65/15 size or maybe lower the profile to 205/60/15 you might also be able to do 225/60/15(wider), but I'm not sure if that might rub a lot , but for 16's you can do 215/55/16 or 225/50/16(being the widest)...use this page it'll help you out a little more--->

I bought a pair of 225/60/15 Dunlop SP 5000 and put them on the stock rims... i'm lovin them. They look good and ride excellent... my rain traction is incredible. But listen... if you're car is lowered... you need to do some measuring or talk to some experts cause you may be pushin it by going wider with you wheelbase closer to the tire.
